Life lately has looked a little different. But still lots to be thankful for. Scroll to the end for a special surprise.
In no particular order: improv & more improv, Blue stripes, Jazz at Blue Note, Grandpa's 90th party, and craft nights with the girlies.

Jay dressed up as a cowboy is a bonus! 🤠

Regramming a few shots of the process… in making her own chart (we think that is the stitching pattern strategy) to switching mid-stream from a pillow to a ‘painting’ @verybaroque actually knitted this awesome classic. Here at HQ we especially like the photo perspective of the center of the cup, comin’ at ya… in knitted form!

Life is really hard. So I knit a tea cosy. And I want to give it away. I want someone else who wants this little teapot sweater to take it, and use it, and love it, or give it to someone they love.

So, if you want this, no strings attached, just comment below to enter. I will do a name draw at the end of the month and I will mail it to you!

Why you might ask? Because I want to bring someone some joy. Also, it's National Hot Tea Month.

I know we are all flooded with 2025 recap posts, but I really love thinking about my past year. I love scrolling through photos and being reminded of all the year offered, both good & challenging.

For me this year was full of firsts, trying new things, and saying yes whenever possible (hello Improv!). Here are the highlights in no particular order:

Concerts: Jack White (again) and The Rocket Summer

B'Way: Pirates! The Penzance Musical, Sunset Boulevard, Oh Mary!, Angry Alan, Art, Beetlejuice (third time's the charm), & This World of Tomorrow

Trips: We were able to see my @rachaelwa graduate from Penn in Philadelphia, visited the lovely Anne Corso in Doylestown, I met up with my long time girlfriends in NC, celebrated my love in the Catskills, and had a lovely weekend getaway to Nicole's ski cottage. Many many people came here to see us this year and that was really special too.

Firsts: Improv! I took about a dozen classes at my local library and fell in love. It's so challenging and fun and you never know what is going to come out of your mouth. Hiking the Giraffe in Manhattan in the pouring rain was a first and a big highlight of the year. Roller skating at Xanadú in Brooklyn. Tea at the Plaza Hotel. My first Rangers game (go Devils)! River Tubing-and I have fallen in love with it.

Knitting: I did not knit as much as I would have liked this year, but I did make more gifts for others which really brought me joy. I tried to use yarn I already had instead of buying more. A highlight was making a cashmere scarf for a dear friend in black (I hadn't knit with black yarn before).

Honorable mentions: Celebrating Lady's 15th birthday! Wow, I am so grateful for all the years we have had with her, tons of afternoon tea, meeting at the Met to reconnect with old friends, re-reading The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion (and likely telling you to read it too!), having an incredible dinner at Gramercy Tavern with @thepaintedtraveler & @insatiable_ogre

Stockings are hung by the chimney with care. I finally knit Lady Grey's stocking to match ours that I made back in 2022.

I lightly altered the #marychristmasstocking to create a smaller one for Lady.
