I’d like to introduce you to the Black Mirror experience. Black Mirror is a song (produced by @ScottStorchOfficial and featuring @melamachinko) about our relationship with our phones, the internet, social media, and influencer culture.

For the video, I wanted to capture that with a meta experience about a launch party for the song itself. I don’t want to give too much away, because I believe we created a remarkable work of art. Shout out to @_blackson_ our Director, Popular Lemonade, @somedaysoonsomeday, @catlimket @abigailprtr @krystinaarielle, and our whole production team for bringing it all to life.

I gotta watch my daughter’s ball at basketball camp, but I will be back with a lot more to say over the next few days.

If you’re in LA on 8/6 or NYC 8/13 we’re having premiere parties. @ me I’ll send you the details.

Now, please enjoy it. Share it. And, subscribe, like, hit the bell! Subscribe, like, hit the bell!

NEW MUSIC Alert 🚨 @verywellversed_ Mic King — “Black Mirror”

On the 27th of August, @dj3rddegree DJ 3rd Degree had the pleasure of interviewing the incredibly talented emcee Mic King from the USA on the Coast 2 Coast Radio Show, broadcast on the UK’s top Black station, Black Culture Radio. 🇬🇧🇺🇸
In honour of this incredible interview, we’re excited to create a reel celebrating Mic King’s powerful new single, “Black Mirror.” 🖤🪞

Mic King explores the powerful influence our phones — our modern-day “black mirrors” — have on our lives.
For this latest release, Mic King links up with legendary producer Scott Storch, with Mela Machinko also featured on the track. “Black Mirror” combines King’s sharp lyricism with Storch’s polished, cinematic production to deliver a thought-provoking record.

At its core, the track challenges us to think about how the screens we carry every day have changed the way we see ourselves, consume information, communicate and interact with the world around us.

📻 Catch DJ 3rd Degree’s Radio Show every Thursday night!
🇬🇧 9PM GMT — UK
🇺🇸 4PM EST — USA
🇺🇸 1PM PST — USA

It’s my birthday.

In the spirit of growth, I wanted to do something mortifying and what is more terrifying than being the “showtime” guy on the train?

Me, @melamachinko, and @darrentalent hit the A train on the way to the Black Mirror Experience and made our own #blackMirror experience.

If you haven’t heard the song (produced by @scottstorchofficial ) or seen the video comment “BLACK MIRROR” and I will DM it to you.

P.S. it’s also @michaeljackson’s birthday. So we started at MJ Station. #iykyk taken in New York, New York by @verywellversed_

Throwback Thursday!

New York showed up for BLACK MIRROR, and the energy was incredible!

After taking this experience coast to coast, from Los Angeles to New York, one of the most rewarding parts has been watching people genuinely connect with the concept behind the song. The conversations, the acknowledgment, the excitement, the curiosity and then watching everybody simply groove to the record has been something special.

A huge thank you to @mrmecc for hosting the evening, @ItsBizkitt @raynereports and @echohattix @echoingsoundz Soundz team and more for helping bring the New York experience together.

Thank you to every media outlet that came out to cover the premiere, everyone who interviewed us, captured the moment, posted, reposted, shared the record and helped spread the word.

LA was incredible. New York took it even further.

But this isn’t where it ends. We’re creating a continuum around BLACK MIRROR. The premieres introduced the experience, but the conversation, the music and the movement continue.

Thank you, New York. 🗽

BLACK MIRROR. Keep watching. Keep listening. Keep the conversation going.
