I recall the evening well. It forced me back to recalling dreams (nightmares) I had had several times before. Leading P&W and someone coming into the church with a vengeance. How could such an evil happen during such a Holy moment?

Could this have happened at St.Douglas PB Church
or The Bethel Church or even Greater Bethel AME…

How have churches, particularly those of the black diaspora, responded to this moment

Are we guarded and protected during one of our most vulnerable moments- worship!

How many Bible tote Gun carrying Church Goers do we have NOW? Do we still close our eyes when we pray?

#HBCUStrongerTogether

I am making this post in support of students and alumni, parents and love ones who is being forced to sit -down in the face of injustice.

We have to stop acquiescing to systems that do not serve us; as a community and culture, and be willing to “hold the line” when it comes to our ethics and moral standards. I am not surprised by SC States leadership making such a “profit over people” move. However it is always disappointing to see black skin folks selling off their own for pennies on a dollar.

I am wishing them well. These are the days when getting in #GoodTrouble is necessary for the greater community.
