💡SAME PROBLEM
What do Saint Paul's sweeps of unhoused encampments and the 'U.S.-Isra°l' ethn°c cleansing of Palest°nians have fundamentally in common?

Colonization tells us only certain people belong; only certain people have a right to live on the land.

The ‘United States’ and ‘Israel’ are both settler-colonial States. Each take the same violent approach to remove people from their homes and destroy their lives. Heavily armed enforcers escort destruction workers into communities. Equipped heavy machinery, they rip up tents and bulldoze entire neighborhoods. They leave whole families devastated and without shelter.

Colonization forces people to flee, robbing them of their possessions and uprooting their lives.

The ‘United States’ and ‘Israel’ both practice the gen°cidal-strategy of mass displacement. Certain people are not to be seen, not to exist at all, no matter the cost. The system is designed, in both colonial States, to ensure that certain people disappear into the shadows, into concentration camps like prisons and detention centers, or into an exsistance that will cost them their lives.

But resistance to the ‘United States’ and ‘Israel’ exists on all fronts, from Mni Sota Makoce to Falastine, Lebanon, Iran, and beyond.

Resistance to colonization has existed since colonization first began. As people from all walks of life standing together in the face of terrible violence, we recognize that we are the only ones who can protect and care for each other. We stand in collective courage and clarity, holding the line to prevent ourselves and our neighbors from devastation. Our rage is righteous, our victory is destined.

Resist with your mind. Resist with your body. Resist with your time and resources and dollars.

Solidarity against colonization takes many forms. We owe each other, and especially those most targeted, to invest ourselves in lifelong resistance together. We must care for and defend communities near and far. We must pay reparations for harms both past and ongoing.

Take a moment to read through the Creative Resistance zine, a zine made by and with people staying outside in East Phillips, Minneapolis!

Their artwork and opinions bring a much needed perspective shift to the narrative the city of Minneapolis aims to paint wherein they are nothing but “drug dealers and sex traffickers.”

Doing art, playing games, sharing food, laughing, and spending time with our neighbors throughout the past several months has taught us otherwise. The second edition is out now and we hope you can appreciate all this wonderful and complex community of people wanted to share💕❤️ by @vetsforpeace27
