Merci pour votre énergie et votre confiance.

Le thème de ce cours et de cette démo était simple :
revenir à la base.

Le groove de la basse,
les rythmiques de la bachata,
et les jeux rythmiques en explorant les quavers et semiquavers.

Un immense merci à @danielcorazonbachata & @audreyfev et la team pour l’organisation et le travail qu’ils fournissent pour développer la scène dans leur région.

Improvisation sur un popurry live de Joel Insuperable un format que j’adore, parce qu’il oblige à écouter, à s’adapter, à ressentir.

Pas de chorégraphie.
Pas de contrôle.
Juste du moment présent.

Explorer la bachata comme elle devrait l’être :

“Uhamba Kancane” — “He walks slowly.”

I wrote these lyrics and composed the instrumental to give a face to the quiet strength that brings us back to our feet, even when some part of us remains seated beside an empty chair.

I called him Lavi.

I tucked regrets, a few memories, and words he is learning to say differently into his pockets. I let him hesitate, fall, and return to knock on doors. I wanted his footsteps to carry the effort it sometimes takes to make it through an ordinary day.

I brought four languages together as one might draw distant shores closer. Each carries a little of his story; the music holds what he cannot bring himself to say.

And when dawn comes, Lavi reaches for his jacket again. That is where I wanted to leave this song: on the threshold of another morning, with bread to fetch and something within him to preserve. by @vibe_withclem

Why am I drawn to these styles?
Because beyond the movements, these dances teach you about the country’s history and the people who keep them alive.

They push you to look beyond your own doorstep and challenge yourself, day after day.

I have tried to do good, but sometimes it feels like I am fighting a world shaped by ego and self-interest.

During my travels, far from the industry, I felt something real again. In the bateyes, I met people facing difficult lives, and I found the child in myself again.

We spend so much time teaching children how to become adults. Maybe we should also teach adults how to remember the child they once were: curious, generous, able to see others without asking what they can gain.

I used to clear explosives in the military. My job was to make dangerous ground safe for others to cross.

Maybe that is still my work today: to clear a little space where people can meet each other as human beings again. ❤️ by @vibe_withclem
