Christmas in Miami 2025 🎅🏻🩷🌴

First Christmas with my love and the family in south Florida 🥰

From noche buena dominos to Christmas white elephant to reindeer games, we laughed and played and sleighed the sun shiney holidays together as we wave 2025 away 🕺 🎄 🎁

The best gift of all was spending time with the ones I love most after quite a challenging year…

Sending my love and wishing you and yours a happy and healthy holiday season with an abundant and beautiful new year 🥂 🎇

This year on World Leather Day I want to highlight what leather truly means to me by sharing some personal thoughts and gratitude for these BEAUTIFUL shots done today by the talented @smithbeardmedia 📸

To me, leather means safety… leather means trust… leather means fun… leather means community…

Leather protects you from the harsh hurts and rough realities of the world… it gives you a second skin, armor, a deeper layer to go boldly into the darkness, into the unknown…

Leather protects you when you fall down, bang yourself up and get cut up and scraped by the world…

Leather is sexy, leather is kinky, leather is fun and looks and feels just 🤤

Leather brings folks together with common interests and values of respect, consent, kink, community and service…

Leather is care, protection, tough and durable…

Our modern queer history has its roots in leather, in drag, in pageantry and ballroom…

Leather is, was, and always has been about standing up against social norms by defying what “good”, “nice” or “kind” looks like in society…

Everyone’s story and journey is different as queer people and as leather folk…

The Eagle in Ft. Lauderdale was the first leather bar I stepped into back home… the San Diego Eagle was the first gay bar I stepped into at my new home…

I have always found comfort, safety, friendship, fun, freedom and community in these spaces and strive to invite others in to see and look and feel it for themselves…

On this year’s World Leather Day I want to bring more visibility, more clarity and more expression as to what leather is and can be…

I believe that leather, like culture and music and community and language, is actually fluid and ever changing and is a dynamic and unique expression of the person wearing it…

Most of my leather is thrifted, second hand or passed down… all of my leather is meaningful… each piece represents an experience, a moment, a desire, a person, a place or a memory…

And I am thrilled to share this next chapter of my own journey with all of you.

With leather, respect and sincerely yours,
J.J. ✨
