Welcome to all photographers around the world. My name is Mike Goyert @trafaelio curator of the @unlimited_zone_zine

We are more than thankful taking over the @mxspf_share account this week (31st of Aug-6th of Sep) as part of the collaborative community around @mx_streetphotofest

Let me introduce you to the photography of Vica Rosario Bogaerts @vicarosario 📸

Vica Rosario Bogaerts is a Dutch street photographer and writer, born and raised in Amsterdam.

She first photographed Southeast Asia at eighteen, backpacking with a stack of disposable cameras. It took another two decades before she picked photography up seriously.

Her photography is candid without exception. She works close with a 28mm lens, going back to the same streets at different hours until the extraordinary reveals itself.

She is guided by the conviction that every place, moment and person is worth being seen.

Curator’s Statement:
There’s an immediate presence to Vica’s images, a deep and resounding immersive quality that can only arise from an artist being truly intertwined with their subjects, not only in proximity, but on a personal level. I suspect it’s this intangible quality of trust and respect that allows us to feel like we’re also present in the places, spaces and with the people she so effortlessly photographs.

With love from TEAM UZZ 🟢

Vica Bogaerts — In Making.

A portrait series on creative lives. How we make, why we make, and ultimately the meaning creativity gives us. Vica’s photography is driven by curiosity: a desire to explore places and people whose lives go unseen, and to reframe simple daily activities into something closer to wonder.

Full film on YouTube, and the story behind the portrait on Substack. Both linked in bio. by @vicarosario

Vica Bogaerts — In Making.

A portrait series on creative lives. How we make, why we make, and ultimately the meaning creativity gives us. Vica is a street photographer based in Bangkok, working across Vietnam, Bangladesh and India. We look at five photographs that trace the evolution of her style, and discuss what makes a good photograph, the patience street photography demands, and why we should all be more picky in an age of endless imagery.

Her series Until Dawn Comes recently won First Prize in the LensCulture Street Photography Awards 2026.

Until Dawn Comes won First Prize in the LensCulture Street Photography Awards 2026. I’m still a bit stunned, honestly. Thank you to the jury, to LensCulture, and to everyone who gave me feedback on this work along the way. Congratulations to the other winners and finalists. I’m looking forward to meeting some of you in London. taken in Hanoi, Vietnam by @vicarosario
