Investing in the next generation. 🇮🇹🇨🇦

It was an honour for VICA – Vaughan Italian Cultural Association to join Centro Scuola in recognizing two outstanding young people whose compassion, positivity and inclusivity reflect the very best of our community.

Congratulations to Francesca Montages of St. Jean de Brébeuf and Justin Layne of Emily Carr, each receiving a $1,000 bursary in recognition of their accomplishments and character.

For more than 50 years, Centro Scuola has played an important role in promoting Italian language and culture, creating opportunities for young people to learn, experience and connect with their heritage — including the transformative opportunity to study and live in Italy. Their work reflects a belief that Italian-Canadian heritage is something to be preserved, valued and passed on to future generations.

At VICA, we share that belief.

We believe preserving Italian heritage is not simply about looking to the past. It is about investing in the next generation and creating opportunities for young people to carry that culture forward.

For generations of Italian-Canadian families, the Centro Scuola experience has been a meaningful connection to Italy — one that carries memories, friendships and a deeper connection to heritage long after the journey home. VICA is proud to help support that experience for the next generation.
Congratulations, Francesca and Justin. We are proud to celebrate you, and grateful to be part of a community that invests in its future. ❤️
