I wanted to swim the Bosphorus because the idea of it felt almost magical to me.
⠀
The depth of the water. The current. Swimming from one continent to another. Being there, in the middle of it, surrounded by people who felt the same pull.
⠀
Of course, this journey carries a very personal meaning of overcoming for me. But above all, it brought me joy. Curiosity. Wonder. The feeling of doing something I had genuinely dreamed about.
⠀
And there are two people I will be grateful to for the rest of my life for walking this road with me.
⠀
@volodyuk — thank you for rebuilding my swimming from the inside out. For changing my technique, teaching me to listen to my body instead of fighting it, and for giving me something much bigger than mechanics: a philosophy of swimming. You taught me how to feel the water 🪼
⠀
And Marina @shlyakhtinaprosport — for the brilliant work you did with my body: finding the imbalances and weaknesses, building strength where I needed it, and creating the physical foundation that allowed me to arrive here strong. And just as importantly, for everything you taught me about the psychology of being an athlete — how to approach a race, how to handle preparation, and how to trust myself in it.
⠀
Two angels who walked this chapter with me 🫂
And I will carry my gratitude to both of you for a very, very long time❤️‍🔥
