Today early in the morning, my life changed forever. My heart broke in two! It will never be the same again. September 29 my mother went to her permanent home to ever with her precious Savior. I am so blessed and thankful that God gave me the best mother that I could ever ask! I miss her so much but live in the blessed hope that I will see her and Dad on the other side. by @vickyvaughtpeacock

From my devotions today: the road we travel may have some rough spots, but God is with us every step of the way! He sees the tears, the pain, the discouragement—-and He cares. Turn your eyes toward Jesus. Look to him for peace, grace and help in the time of need.

“My Jouney to a Liver Transplant”

Journal Entry #3: Time for Prayer

On the way to Jacksonville we stopped by my home church. I had to be very careful as not to get any germs that I would take to Mayo Clinic. Heather Banks disinfected two chairs and placed in the foyer.

The Vaught’s started attending this church in 1957. This church has been so special to us. We recently celebrated the precious lives of Dad, Mom and Stephanie at this church.

God sent a man for such a time as this to our little country church. Today the church was at full capacity. After church while I was sitting in our motorhome watching all the children (including my great nieces and nephew) running around, laughing and having so much fun; it warmed my heart and brought a huge smile to my face.

When Pastor Richard and his wife, Heather, along with me sweet brother, niece and nephew began to pray, the sweetest anointing and spirit of God fell upon me.

Thanks to Pastor Richard and Heather for having a servant’s heart and allowing the Holy Spirit to work through you. We love you!

My Journey to a Liver Transplant

Journey Entry 3

Finding peace amidst overwhelming pain. Our focus question would be how do we find peace when our world is falling apart? Keep in mind this is what has helped me; I am not an expert but, been there—done that.

1. Even when you do not feel like it, keep up your prayers, devotions and journaling.

2. This was one of the hardest things I had to learn how to handle: you will find out who your true friends are. Do not let it catch you off-guard and it is not your fault! Especially since some diseases began slow and then lasted a long time.

Choose your “lifeline.” This is the person you can tell everything! You can call when you need help in finding answers. You can trust they are holding your arms up when your strength is gone as with Moses. Most of the time it is not a family member or spouse.

3. There were a lot of embarrassing things that happens to my physical body, mental ability and social factors change. There was one week that I was so overwhelmed by all of the factors, that I was ready to give up (NOT suicidal, just not tryz) I was embarrassed to go out in public, I did not want to talk to anyone, I did not get invitations to things anymore so why even try…you get the idea. by @vickyvaughtpeacock
