Wait for it…! 💥 Today’s Kids Concert at the Farquhar ended with a bang as Stella and April joined the orchestra on stage for the final note.

This all ages crowd had a blast at conductor and host Vern Griffith’s ‘What Do YOU Play?’ — a concert for kids that explores different musical instruments, including an erhu (guest young artist Jiaqi Zhang) and Indigenous drums (guest artist Gordy Bear) not often found in a symphony. by @vicsymphony

We had such a wonderful time taking part in @culturedays! 🎺🎭🎶

In partnership with @thevcm and @pacificoperavictoria, we welcomed music lovers of all ages to the @royalmcphersontheatres for a free afternoon of discovery. Guests got a behind-the-scenes look at a working rehearsal, tried their hand at a variety of instruments, explored an opera touch table, met our musicians and Maestro, and enjoyed performances by students from the Victoria Conservatory of Music.

A huge thank you to the Royal Theatre for hosting us, and to everyone who came out to join in the fun. There’s no better way to start the season than with a lobby full of curious, excited new faces. ❤️ taken in Royal Theatre by @vicsymphony

Make Friday your night at the Symphony ✨

This Sunday’s concert had long been sold out, so we added a Friday performance to meet the demand. Great seats are still available, making this the perfect opportunity to end the week listening to the music you love, from some of the best seats in the house.

Don’t miss Eller’s Koit (Dawn), Canadian violinist Blake Pouliot performing Sibelius’ Violin Concerto in D minor, and Dvořák’s beloved New World Symphony.

I had the absolute pleasure of performing Beethoven 7 with the @vicsymphony in front of the lady who not only conducted my first Beethoven 7, but also planted the seed of “Hey, you seem to like playing in orchestra. Did you know you can do this as a job?” Thanks a million to my Ukrainian Mama Bear and one of my first violin teachers, Olga 🎻❤️ It was so fun swapping stories over sushi and practicing our French too ☺️ Thank you for the amazing work you do, teaching kids for free in the @eastcountyyouthsymphony I am so happy living a life full of music because of you!!! 🎼 taken in Victoria, British Columbia by @vicsymphony
