This year, our Family Day with VICTA UK took us on a truly magical adventure to Warner Brothers Studio Tour London, The Making of Harry Potter! ⚡

From exploring the incredible sets with special tactile sections, discovering magical details, and sharing the excitement together, it was a day full of wonder, laughter and unforgettable memories.

It was so special to see families connecting, friendships growing, and everyone enjoying a little Hogwarts magic together. Days like these remind us how important it is to create opportunities for families to come together, share experiences and make memories that last a lifetime.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and to Warner Brothers Studio Tour for helping make this year’s Family Day so special. And a special thank you to @victauk for being part of our adventure!

We can’t wait to see what magic our next family adventure brings!

Menna is incredibly excited to become a Patron of VICTA, she hopes to use her experience to inspire the next generation to believe in themselves, embrace opportunities and, most importantly, know that there really are no limits to what they can achieve.

We are incredibly proud that Menna will continue her relationship with VICTA as one of our Patrons. We look forward to working together to continue to inspire and create opportunities through inclusive sport.

If you haven’t had a chance to tune into the latest episode of VICTA Parent Voice, then this is your reminder!

In this episode, we’re joined by the wonderful Elly Chapple, who talks candidly about what it really means to be aware.

Because awareness isn’t about feeling sympathy for someone. It’s about taking the time to understand another person’s experience, challenge our own assumptions and truly see the world from a different perspective.

Elly shares her journey alongside her daughter, Ella, a deafblind young woman who has taught her some of life’s most important lessons. As a parent, Elly has taken those lessons and transformed them into something much bigger, sharing her experiences on the TEDx stage and through her book, Diagnosis: Human, helping bring these conversations into the mainstream.

This is a conversation about parenting, disability, difference, empathy and, ultimately, what it means to be human. ❤️

A huge thank you to Elly for sharing so openly.

What a beautiful day at @aduroutdoors in Shoreham-by-Sea! Here with a group of 18+ participants and @blatchingtoncourt watching the sun come up and listening to the seagulls. This Blindness Awareness Month, we’re delighted to welcome author, advocate and TEDx speaker Elly Chapple to the latest episode of VICTA Parent Voice.

In this powerful clip, Elly shares how meeting Daniel Kish, renowned for his use of echolocation to navigate the world, completely changed the way she viewed her daughter Ella’s sight condition.

At the time, Elly was focused on finding a way to “cure” Ella’s sight loss. But that encounter sparked a profound shift in perspective: from trying to fix her daughter’s difference, to understanding how she could better support, celebrate and empower her.

“That meeting instantly changed how I thought about sight loss.”

Listen to the latest episode of VICTA Parent Voice tomorrow to hear Elly’s story and explore what it really means to support a child with sight loss.
