Everything is on the surface" 3D mural.

Design is a tool for the improvement of humanity, it is the basis for life.
The exterior of a building has a big impact on how people feel in an urban environment.
It is important for me that the design that I am doing is a continuation of the building, but at the same time it boldly declared about its new image: "Hello everyone, imagine it was so possible." by @victor_splash

MY.30.

"Extra volume" 3D facade and installation in Lodz / Poland.
⠀
What kind of space do we create around us?
What dialogue do we conduct with this space and do we have it at all?
Should modern art fit into the context or can it contrast with the environment, ask a new level of thought and sensation?
⠀
The main idea of the facade:
1. Completely change the geometry of a flat surface, adjust. Create a new image that meets attention and tells a modern story.
2. A game with gravity and time. Create a movement of the volume of the falling cubes, but freeze it for a moment or stop the time.

Project “White Living Room”

In the project “White Living Room,” the ceiling becomes the main instrument of spatial transformation. Through its form, plasticity, and interaction with light, it creates a sense of depth and movement. The perception of the space changes: the scale shifts, new accents appear, and the room begins to feel lighter and more dynamic.

I believe that, even today, ceiling design remains relatively underexplored in global architecture and interior design. Despite the enormous possibilities that this surface offers, it is often treated as a secondary element. Meanwhile, the ceiling has the potential to become a powerful architectural feature that defines the character of the entire interior. by @victor_splash

Project “White Living Room”

The project “White Living Room” explores how space can be transformed through a thoughtful approach to the ceiling. The entire transformation of the space in this interior is based on an unconventional way of working with the ceiling.

Very often, designers and architects focus primarily on walls, furniture, flooring materials, and decorative elements. The ceiling, however, is usually treated as a neutral background — a white surface that serves mainly a technical function. Yet the ceiling actually defines the upper boundary of a space and strongly influences how we perceive its volume, light, and proportions.

What do you think — is the ceiling still an underestimated element in spatial design?

How design and attention to the ceiling can transform a space

The ceiling is an integral part of any interior space, yet it often remains without proper attention. In many projects it is treated simply as a neutral surface — white, flat, and taken for granted.

However, the ceiling has enormous potential in shaping the perception of space. It can set rhythm, change the proportions of a room, guide the eye, and reinforce the architectural language of the interior.

Working with the ceiling makes it possible to visually expand a space or, conversely, create a more intimate and cohesive atmosphere. Through levels, materials, color, light, or texture, the ceiling can become an active element of the composition rather than just a technical surface.

Sometimes a small intervention — a line of light, a relief, or a subtle color accent — is enough for a space to gain depth and character.

When the ceiling becomes part of the design concept, the interior begins to be perceived as a complete architectural composition, where every plane contributes to the overall image.

In the photographs — my studio workshop in Saint Petersburg, from the period 2017–2019.
