As October comes to an end, let’s not stop advocating for breast cancer awareness.

Today, I want to use this medium to appreciate someone truly special; a breast cancer survivor, the CEO of @behindmarygiftwallsfoundation @unstoppablemarygift
@theunstoppable3030sunshine

THANK YOU FOR STANDING IN THE GAP!

Join me, everyone, in celebrating this incredible woman whose vision, passion, and commitment continue to inspire us to make a difference.

She is the real deal, and her impact is not hearsay. She continues to turn her personal story into a source of hope, strength, and inspiration for others while championing breast cancer awareness.

May God continue to bless, strengthen, and empower her as she uses her story to touch lives and spread awareness. May her efforts continue to yield fruits and bring hope to many.

As we close Breast Cancer Awareness Month, let’s remember that awareness should not end with October. Let’s keep talking, keep educating, and keep encouraging people to seek medical attention when they notice unusual changes.

Early detection can save lives. Together, we can make a difference and build a healthier future.

OCTOBER 26, 2026 | THE MESSAGE CONTINUES!

October is not over yet, and there's still time to make a difference!

From our cities to our villages, communities, farms, and classrooms, everyone deserves access to breast cancer information.

Know your body. Check your breasts. Don't ignore unusual changes. Seek medical advice and appropriate screening.

Remember, breast cancer can affect both women and men. Early detection can make a difference!

Don't just share the message. Take action.

Encourage someone to get checked, support survivors, and spread reliable information.

Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can save lives!

What if the food choices you make today could influence your health for years to come?

Good nutrition is more than filling your stomach; it's an investment in how we grow, live and age.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to learn about Nutrition Across The Life Cycle: From Infancy to Healthy Ageing during the U-SAVE Foundation @usavefdn Fellowship Programme, Cohort 3 (2026/2027).

The session was facilitated by my eldest sister, Mrs @ochepriscilla, Technical Assistant on Nutrition in the Office of the Vice President and Senior Nutrition Officer with the @nphcda (NPHCDA).

Here are 10 key lessons from the session:

1️⃣ Healthy Eating in Children: Parents and caregivers should encourage healthy eating with fruits, vegetables and nutritious local foods.

2️⃣ Nutrition During Pregnancy: Balanced meals, recommended supplements and avoiding harmful substances support maternal and child health.

3️⃣ Children and Adolescents: Adequate nutrients, especially iron, calcium and protein for adolescent girls, support growth and development.

4️⃣ Adult Nutrition: Make balanced food choices, limit excess salt, sugar, fried foods and alcohol, and stay active.

5️⃣ Healthy Ageing: Nutritious meals and adequate water help older adults maintain strength and independence.

6️⃣ Breastfeeding: Proper positioning, effective latching and responding to a baby's feeding cues are important.

7️⃣ Food Safety: Proper hygiene, safe water and correct food handling help prevent foodborne illnesses.

8️⃣ Affordable Healthy Eating: Foods like beans, eggs, groundnuts, vegetables and seasonal fruits can support a nutritious diet.

9️⃣ Dietary Diversity: No single food provides every nutrient the body needs. Variety matters!

🔟 Our Food Choices: A balanced plate with fruits, vegetables, staples and protein-rich foods supports better health.

My sincere appreciation goes to my eldest sister, Mrs Priscilla Oche, for facilitating this insightful session, and to the U SAVE Foundation Fellowship Programme for creating a platform for learning and personal development.

Now, let's talk! What healthy food choice are you making more intentionally?

When someone is struggling, you don't need to have the perfect words. Sometimes, simply listening, asking, and showing that you care can make a difference.

Let's keep the conversation going.

Let's challenge the Myths and focus on the Facts.

Understanding suicide can help us respond with compassion, listen without judgment, and connect people to the support they need.

This week, we’re talking about something that can be difficult to discuss: Suicide prevention.

Starting the conversation doesn’t mean we have all the answers. It means we’re willing to listen, learn, support one another, and remind people that they don’t have to face difficult moments alone.

As we approach World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10th, let’s be intentional about checking in on the people around us and creating safe spaces where people feel heard, supported, and free from judgment.

Sometimes, a simple conversation can be the first step toward getting the support someone needs.

From simply navigating the digital space to learning how to shape it — I’m ready for the journey ahead.

I’m excited and grateful to be part of the first cohort of the Women at the Front of Digital Space (WFDS) Fellowship!

Being selected alongside 20 young women from Kaduna State is an opportunity I truly value. This six-week virtual fellowship, supported by the Digital Democracy Initiative Sub-Saharan Africa (DDISA), is an opportunity to learn, grow, connect, and contribute meaningfully to conversations shaping the digital space.

I’m particularly looking forward to gaining deeper knowledge of digital democracy, online safety, digital advocacy, misinformation and disinformation response, and technology-facilitated gender-based violence awareness.

Beyond the learning, I’m excited to connect with other passionate young women, exchange ideas, share experiences, ask questions, and learn from one another.

I believe our voices matter, and I’m looking forward to strengthening mine, expanding my knowledge, and using what I learn to contribute to positive change both online and within my community.

Here’s to six weeks of learning, collaboration, growth, and meaningful impact.

I’m proud to be part of WFDS 2026 Cohort 1, and I can’t wait to see where this journey leads!

Thank you @smartaid_ng for selecting meeeeeee...

Sometimes, all it takes is one email to turn an ordinary morning into a memorable one.

I was just flipping through my Gmail this morning to see if I had received any good news regarding some applications I submitted recently, and one email caught my attention.

I clicked on it and behold… I was selected for the Women at the Front of Digital Space Fellowship!

I’m super excited and grateful to be among 20 young women from Kaduna State selected for this fellowship.

The fellowship focuses on digital democracy, online safety, digital rights, technology-facilitated gender-based violence, misinformation response, and digital advocacy, with virtual sessions, mentorship, peer learning, practical exercises, and an in-person bootcamp.

And to everyone who has applied for a job, scholarship, fellowship, training, or any opportunity and wasn't selected, please don't give up. Keep applying, keep learning, and keep putting yourself out there. One day, that application will be the one that works out.

Keep pushing. Your opportunity will come!

Here’s to more opportunities, more learning, more growth, and greater impact. I’m excited for the journey ahead and all that this new experience will bring.

WE MADE IT!!!!

On Saturday, 22nd August 2026, Day 7

I joined young people and country ambassadors from across Africa as we brought the Africa Responsible Digital Health Week 2026 (ARDHW26) to a close.

What a week it has been!!!!

Over the past seven days, we explored digital health, online safety, responsible AI, youth innovation, and the importance of locally driven solutions for Africa’s digital future.

One thing that stood out to me was the power of youth participation. Young Africans are not just waiting for a better digital future; we are contributing ideas, identifying challenges in our communities, and helping develop solutions that can create meaningful change.

My Takeaways

Day 3: Technology can improve access to health information, but AI and chatbots should complement, not replace, healthcare professionals. We must verify information and protect our health data.

Day 5: Online Gender-Based Violence is real. Creating safer digital spaces requires us to recognize digital abuse, support affected individuals, protect one another, and strengthen reporting and support systems.

Day 6: Africa must move beyond being only a consumer of AI. Our developers, researchers, and communities should be active creators and co-creators of solutions that reflect our languages, cultures, realities, and challenges.

Most importantly, I learned that Africa’s digital future should not simply happen to us; it should be something we actively help build.

I am grateful to have been part of this conversation as a Nigerian and to have connected with young people from different African countries.

A huge THANK YOU to the organizers, facilitators, speakers, country ambassadors, participants, and everyone who made ARDHW26 impactful.

The week may be over, but the work continues....

From insights to action. From conversations to solutions. From participation to impact ✨

Here’s to building a safer, more inclusive, and responsible digital future for Africa.

DAY 6 — YOUTH INNOVATION & RESPONSIBLE AI: BUILDING SOLUTIONS FOR AFRICA'S FUTURE

On Friday, 21st August 2026, Day 6 of the Africa Responsible Digital Health Week 2026 (ARDHW26) continued with an insightful session on Youth Innovation & Responsible AI: Building Solutions for Africa's Future, facilitated by Matemilola Samuel Oluwatimelehin. @the_samuelmatemilola

The session highlighted an important question: What happens when AI is expected to transform Africa, but Africans are not actively involved in designing the solutions?

We hear constantly that AI will transform Africa, but the pattern is often the same: a new technology arrives from the Global North, while African communities become case studies rather than creators.

The tools are designed for other contexts, other languages, and other lives. The funding leaves, the technology moves elsewhere, and the gap widens.

The difference isn't just the tool. It's who holds it, who designed it, and whose life experiences shaped it.

African developers, researchers, and communities must be architects, not afterthoughts. We need to change our mindset and become co-creators, not just beneficiaries.

We should also rethink before sharing sensitive information online and become more intentional about how our data is used.

Africa needs to be actively involved in creating AI solutions that respond to our realities, address our unique challenges, reflect our geographical and cultural diversity, and meet the needs of our communities.

The future of AI in Africa should not only be something that happens to us. It should be something we help build.

I am grateful to be part of this learning process and to continue gaining knowledge on responsible AI, youth innovation, digital safety, and the importance of African-led solutions.
