From ideation to réalisation, this is one of my favorite projects I’ve ever created to date.

It started so small. On one of my walks in Dallas, I was passing under a bridge listening to Mi Sei Scoppiato Dentro Al Cuore by Mina.

Inspired by Mina herself, I started imagining a glamorous ’60s–’70s jazz singer. I could see her whole life—the glamour, the real joy she felt onstage, and the loneliness and isolation she may have experienced offstage, despite all of the glamour surrounding her.

It had to be shot on film.

I didn’t have the words for the images in my head yet, but I did have a dress from @house_ledesma sitting in my closet, waiting for her story.

I went home, tried on the dress, and took test shots on my iPhone 14 using the self-timer.

The real star of this story is truly @egyptian_cowboy 📹. I told Hassan my vision, and he took such care in bringing it to life. He’s one of the most creative and kind souls I’ve met, and I’m so grateful I got to create this with him.

Thank you to @balconyclub for allowing me to hop on your stage and silently sing my way through the story and encapsulate the mood.

And a shoutout to @gingersdallas for letting us shoot the afters there.

I’m still figuring out my perfect relationship between music, images, and feelings. So thank you for bearing with me as I try new things, explore new paths, and figure out what I’m trying to say.

More to come. 🖤

👻🖤”It’s the most wonderful time of the year”

Honestly Fall not being your favorite season is a character flaw and I won’t be swayed on that.
