Boss man said to face some off of this gasket area because of the circled defect. I was going to use the mill but its a pain to get trammed in perfectly and I don't have a fly cutter that big. So I used a faceplate for the first time today. Nothing flew out and the finish came out great and nice and flat. I used a 2 inch boring bar because it's more Ridgid than the 1 inch facing tool. And it gave me a little extra stick out to get around the clamping bolts by @victorian_blacksmith
