What a beautiful afternoon at the Chapel. ❤️🎶

This afternoon we welcomed the wonderful Victoriana Gaye Quartet, who filled the Chapel with groovy, relaxing music that was the perfect soundtrack to a cosy winter afternoon.

We settled in with cups of tea or glasses of wine, a few nibbles, good company, and simply enjoyed being together while listening to beautiful live music. There was something special about the atmosphere – people weren't rushing anywhere, just slowing down, listening, smiling and sharing the experience.
After the concert, many stayed to chat with the band.

The band told us that this performance would stay with them for a long time. They were deeply touched by how attentive and engaged the audience was, saying it was such a joy to play for people who truly listened to every song. They also said they'd absolutely love to come back.

To be honest... that's something we hear from many of the musicians who play in our little Chapel.

Such a special place and space to enjoy music in community! taken in Queenscliff Uniting Church by @victorianagaye

Jake Mason Trio
‘The Modern Ark’ Album Launch ✨

Friday, May 8 @ 8 PM
_______________________________________________

A modern soul-jazz parable for uncertain times — and a seriously grooving night out.

The ARIA-nominated Jake Mason Trio launch their new album The Modern Ark at The JazzLab.

Led by Hammond organist and composer Jake Mason (Cookin’ On 3 Burners), alongside James Sherlock (guitar) and Danny Fischer (drums), the trio brings the classic organ-jazz tradition into widescreen: vintage warmth, contemporary edge, deep pocket, and fearless improvisation.

Recorded live to tape with that unmistakable analogue grit, The Modern Ark moves from simmering soul to cinematic jazz — music that swings hard, hits deep, and lifts the room.

Hear the new album live — one night only at The JazzLab.

Support by Victoriana Gaye Trio feat. Jeff Raglus
Victoriana Gaye Trio (feat. Jeff Raglus) are a one-of-a-kind coastal outfit from Aireys Inlet, mixing guitars, trumpet and smoke-curl harmonies into a sunlit, genre-hopping sound — Jeff also painted the cover art for the new Jake Mason Trio record. “

A rare thing: progressive, sophisticated adult pop.” — Chris Wilson taken in The Jazzlab by @victorianagaye
