After some travel, some flu, & some rest, I’m back at it with #thelondonquilt from @oldepatchart . Loving this project! Pulling out some long lost fabrics missing in stash land to incorporate in the next step. Thank you, Miss P!

So, I guess I’m the origin of a little quilter’s peer pressure on @oldepatchart & her mystery friend (so thrilled with that moniker!). Here’s my full-sized version of the center of her wonderful #londonquilt pattern. Stroll over to her page to see the original & her work on a mini version. She’s definitely the maestro of fussy cutting. Thanks Miss Paula!

I’ve finished the purple beast…well sort of. I’m not happy with one of the mitered corners, so I will redo that. Otherwise, the top is done. The center photographs a bit lighter than it is in person. It’s a large one, 70 x 70. Thank you for following the journey!

We had to replace some rotten railroad tie steps on our hillside. The hubby decided to add a small patio up high. We got quite the view of last night’s spectacular sunset (#untouchedphotos). Even Big Chocolate enjoyed himself. Happy Sunday!

This was a big part of my weekend. As an empty nester, I typically only bake during the holidays, but dear friends recently had their first baby. The new father has expressed how much he enjoys my sugar cookies. I hope they provide a welcome pick-me-up to the new parents.

This wasn’t what I intended to post but my account is fritzing out & I loved the song choice, so here it is. My real post may follow once I get this worked out! Anyway, happy Monday to all from me & Big Chocolate.

My wrist is sore! So much trimming & Big Chocolate not happy to see us driving off to an eye appointment (I’m certain he thought we were headed to the park!). At over 100 degrees, park trips are out of the question these days.

Some of the goodies in my recent #happymail from @sunnydaysupply . Just look at these yummy solids! They have that marshmallowy hue I love. And the #atsukomatsuyama book is incredible. I also grabbed the Kearing Heat Erasable pens (not shown) which I’ve found helpful on past projects. Of course, there were also lots of little gifts included. Thank you, Mary & Shawn! Happy mail indeed!

While I’m trimming blocks & figuring out placement, I thought I’d show off this darling pouch I received from @nest.sewing.studio . Wow! Blown away by the quality & adorableness of the bag & needle keepers. Do check out her IG page. Thank you, Laurie!

My Brutus block in honor of my parents’ & later my sister’s beloved cat. He appeared on their porch on a night he would have surely frozen if left outside. He watched over them in their last years, survived them by more than a decade, chased off dogs with a growl, FaceTimed with me on the regular, and provided companionship for my sister. He had facebook fans. My sister has received condolence cards. We miss him.

Getting close….one more to go! This block really made Swiss cheese of my fabric & I had just enough images to complete the plate. It pays to count before you cut!🤣

A petticoat or a dahlia? This plate reminds me of the old TV show Petticoat Junction. I think it’s the ruffles combined with livestock! I swear the center is round, but an optical illusion created by the petal fabric says otherwise. I hope your Sunday is glorious!
