“Why would you ever consume content from someone you don’t look up to?”

That question from Nick Rotola stayed with us.

At #VidSummit2026 @chandlerhallow @mdmotivator and Nick Rotola joined moderator Justin Johnson for a conversation about what it means to have influence and use it to make a real impact.

They also shared the purpose behind Up, an app built around positivity, role models, and the idea of “scrolling happy,” creating a space where content can leave people feeling better than when they arrived.

As MD Motivator put it, “People want to do good, they just need a place to start.”

Being a creator is about more than having an audience. It’s about deciding what you want to do with their attention. by @vidsummit

Experimenting with your content? Put it on the calendar.

“We always talk about things we want to do, but if it’s not in the calendar, you’re so busy with your day-to-day that it’s not going to happen.”

At #VidSummit2026 Alex and Andrea Botez joined @sckachi Senior Product Marketing Manager at OpusClip, to talk about growing beyond one niche, platform, or format.

Alex’s point was simple: experimenting with something new is easy to push off as “I’ll do it eventually.” Putting a real date on it turns the idea into something you’ll actually try.

From chess and poker to streaming, music, vlogging, and Shorts, the Botez Sisters shared the experimentation, strategy, and even burnout that have come with expanding their creative world.

Don’t just talk about trying something new. Give the idea a date, make space for it, and see where it takes you. by @vidsummit

“Stay humble and continue creating videos. Wake up every day as if you have zero subscribers.”

That mindset has stayed with Topper Guild all the way to 100 million subscribers.

At #VidSummit2026 @topperguild joined @joshmattingly Founder of Upright Media, and @will.hanisch.gr Founding Partner at Greenroom Legal, to go behind the views and talk about what it actually takes to scale a creator into a business.

From consistency and competition to building the right team, creating systems, avoiding burnout, and knowing when to take the next opportunity, the conversation showed just how much changes as a creator grows.

100 million subscribers later, the fundamentals still matter: stay curious, stay consistent, and keep creating. by @vidsummit

Different niches. Same question: what makes a video win?

At #VidSummit2026 @tdbricks_ @sacredstuffyt @theplopyt and @optimisticbricks broke down how they’ve built some of YouTube’s fastest-growing niche channels across LEGO, 3D printing, animation, and more.

Led by @ryankiacap partner at creator-focused investment firm Everbloom, the conversation explored everything from finding strong ideas to understanding what makes a video worth watching and the strategies they’ve carried from one niche to the next.

The takeaway: The niche may change. The fundamentals of making great content don’t. by @vidsummit

“If you haven't got your break yet, just keep doing it because you love it. Work hard and be a good person to yourself, your mental health, and to others.”

At #VidSummit2026 @rorykramer got candid about the highs and lows of building a creative career, from working with some of the biggest artists in the world to burnout, loss, and finding a new creative passion in his 40s.

His journey was a reminder that success doesn’t have to follow one path, and neither does your creativity.

Be inspired by others, but build a life and career that are your own. by @vidsummit

“If the algorithm stopped recommending your content tomorrow, who would come looking for you?”

At #VidSummit2026 @mahagaber challenged creators to think beyond views and focus on what actually makes an audience stay, engage, and come back.

Her message centered on storytelling, trust, and letting people see the person behind the content.

“Don’t think about what you should post. Think about what you want to say.”

Because views can introduce someone to your content. Connection is what gives them a reason to come back. by @vidsummit

From digital-first creator to Hollywood.

At #VidSummit2026 creator @itsscottkress and Tubi’s VP of Creator Partnerships, @kudzichikumbu broke down what it looks like to take the audience, storytelling skills, and creative voice you’ve built online and bring them to long-form entertainment.

Through Scott’s own partnership with Tubi, they explored how creators can reach new audiences and think bigger without losing the voice that built their community in the first place.

The line between creator and filmmaker is getting smaller. The stories you’re building online could be just the beginning. by @vidsummit

“The next era of YouTube is the meaningful era.”

At #VidSummit2026 @dantic.ig took the conversation around going viral beyond getting the click.

From packaging and storytelling to respecting the viewer’s time and putting in more effort than the audience expects, the session explored what makes a video worth watching once someone clicks.

And as AI makes it easier to create almost anything, the human thought, effort, and intention behind the work could become what audiences value most.

The takeaway: Give people more than they expected, and make their time worth it. by @vidsummit

“Where do we want AI to impact our workflow?”

At #VidSummit2026 @ctrlaltkylee Principal Product Marketing Manager at Adobe, led a conversation about the AI tools editors and creators are already using, from auto captions and audio cleanup to newer generative features.

The panel explored where these tools can save time, where concerns still exist, and how to use AI without losing the skills and creative process that make the work yours.

As @travelingjules put it: “I still believe in the skills and the process, but if it can help you make things faster I think it becomes a good mix.” by @vidsummit
