Somewhere in the Wild West, a small piece of land is waiting for a new beginning. The first buildings appear, cowboys wander through dusty streets, and a humble settlement slowly grows into a lively little town. But building a successful town doesn’t happen overnight! 🐎

In West Story: A Town Building Game by Smart Flamingo, you’re building your very own town in the Wild West. By adding cards to your personal player board, you don’t just expand your town, but also improve the actions you can take throughout the game.

Each round, the sheriff rolls two dice, allowing everyone to activate actions on their own boards. Once an action has been used, it becomes temporarily blocked, meaning the next roll might send you in a completely different direction. So choosing where to place your new cards can make quite a difference! 🎲

Along the way, you’ll gather resources, trade with neighbouring towns, and try to capture outlaws. As your town grows, more possibilities open up and your actions become increasingly powerful.

The combination of dice rolling and town building creates an enjoyable little puzzle. You can’t control everything, but clever card placement gives you plenty of opportunities to influence what happens next. With several ways to score points, there’s also room to explore different strategies from one game to another. 🌵

The colourful illustrations bring the western setting to life, making it even more enjoyable to watch your little settlement grow into a bustling town.

🇺🇸 Kalypso 🌊🐚
Imagine a world where everything we once knew has disappeared. No streets, no cities, and no solid ground beneath your feet. Just an endless ocean, with scattered remains of what used to be home. 🌊

In Kalypso by Inside Up Games, you’re trying to build a new life in the middle of this vast ocean. Using whatever you can salvage from the water, you’ll slowly create your own floating settlement. And suddenly, even a few pieces of wood or scrap metal can become incredibly valuable!

Throughout the game, you’ll collect and place tiles to expand your settlement. By cleverly arranging materials, you can construct new buildings and unlock useful actions. But building isn’t everything. You’ll also need to manage your resources, look after the survivors, and deal with changing weather conditions. 🐟🌿

One thing I really like is that Kalypso offers different ways to play. You can take on the challenge alone, work together to survive, or compete against each other to build the best settlement.

There’s something about the idea of creating an entirely new little world from materials washed up by the ocean that really appeals to me. What starts as a small collection of resources gradually grows into a floating settlement of your own. 🏝️

Kalypso is designed for 1–4 players and takes approximately 45–60 minutes to play.

I’ll be sharing my full review soon, where I’ll take a closer look at the gameplay and share my own experiences. For now, here’s a little introduction to this world above the waves! 🐚

We’re getting into the winter and Christmas spirit a little early this year! 🎄✨ Snowflakes are falling outside, Christmas lights are twinkling, and inside, the wonderful smell of freshly brewed coffee and hot chocolate fills the air. After all, what could be better than stepping into a cozy little café to warm up on a cold day?

But behind the counter, there’s not much time to enjoy that peaceful winter atmosphere!

In Coffee Rush: Winter by Korea Boardgames, you take on the role of a barista trying to complete as many orders as possible before your customers lose their patience. On your turn, you move across a board filled with ingredients, collecting everything you need to prepare your drinks. By planning your route carefully, you can gather multiple ingredients and complete your orders. But customers won’t wait forever! Happy customers reward you with likes, while orders that take too long can leave you with dislikes. ☕

In this winter edition, it’s not just the café that looks different. You can arrange the ingredient board in different ways, and there are new seasonal drinks, additional upgrades, and even adorable little snowmen! ⛄

Behind all those cozy winter details, there’s still a very busy café to manage. You’re trying to combine your orders as efficiently as possible, but before you know it, even more drinks are waiting to be prepared!

🇺🇸 Delfos 🏛️✨
Long ago, people travelled from far and wide to Delphi, seeking answers from its famous oracle. But the city that once held such an important place in Ancient Greece now lies in ruins. Its temples have fallen, its streets are abandoned, and little remains of its former glory. It’s time to bring Delphi back to life! 🌿

In Delfos by Pythagoras, you take on the role of an architect helping to rebuild this remarkable city. Each player has their own vision of what the new Delphi should look like.

On your turn, you move one of your architects across the ancient city board to collect a building tile. You then place that tile in the new city, which slowly takes shape beside the original board. Little by little, a completely new version of Delphi begins to emerge. 🏺

But where should your next building go? Do you try to create larger connected areas of the same colour, focus on tiles that match your architect’s speciality, or keep your personal objectives in mind? Every tile contributes to the growing city, but it can also have quite an impact on your opponents’ plans.

What makes this interesting is that you’re all building the same city, yet everyone has a different vision in mind. As Delphi slowly takes shape, the decisions made by other architects can change your plans in unexpected ways.

🇺🇸 Raindrops 🌧️💧
Outside, the rain gently taps against the window. Tiny droplets slowly make their way down the glass, following their own paths and occasionally joining together. As you watch the rain fall, your thoughts begin to wander. Sometimes to little things, sometimes to memories you had almost forgotten. ☁️

In Raindrops by DV Games, everything revolves around raindrops, patterns, and memories. In front of you is a window filled with droplets, each carrying a different symbol. On your turn, you try to find a path of matching symbols, starting at the top of the window. The droplets you collect along the way help you complete the patterns on your memory cards. 💦

But things don’t always go as planned. As soon as you remove droplets, the others slide down and the entire window changes. A promising combination might suddenly disappear, while new possibilities appear in unexpected places. Sometimes everything falls perfectly into place, while other times you’re missing just that one little droplet to complete a memory.

Little by little, you try to collect more memories. It’s not just about finding the right droplets for the moment, but also about thinking ahead and creating new opportunities for your next turn. 🌧️

The rainy theme brings a lovely atmosphere to this little puzzle. No grand adventures or complicated stories, just a window filled with droplets where new possibilities keep appearing. And it’s that combination of simple choices and searching for the right patterns that makes it interesting. ✨

Deep among the trees, ancient artifacts lie hidden. Once belonging to powerful gods, they have long been forgotten. Yet their magic still lingers, waiting for someone to uncover the secrets they hold. 🍃

In Aspens: Ancient Artifacts, the expansion for the two-player game Aspens by Ludivore Games, the battle for the forest takes on a whole new dimension. As you continue to grow your woodland, you’ll discover mysterious artifacts scattered across the landscape. But you’re not the only one searching for these forgotten treasures! 🌿

At the beginning of each game, six artifacts are randomly placed on the board. By growing four trees around an artifact, you can claim it for yourself. Each artifact is connected to one of eight Ancient Gods, each offering a unique and powerful ability.

Some powers influence the wind or the sun, while others allow you to interfere with your opponent’s plans. But there’s a catch: each ability can only be used once. 🍂

🇺🇸 Oh Crab! 🦀🌊
The sea is so close, the waves are calling, and somewhere behind you, a chef is getting a little too excited about putting crab on the menu. Time to escape! But with a beach full of obstacles and other crabs trying to do exactly the same, reaching safety won’t be easy. 🏖️

In Oh Crab! by Smart Flamingo, your goal is to be the first crab to reach the safety of the sea. Along the way, you’ll encounter sandcastles, hungry seagulls, and all kinds of obstacles. And as if that weren’t enough, the other crabs might make your escape even more difficult!

Using action cards, you try to move a little closer to the water with every turn. By cleverly combining cards, you can gain just that extra bit of movement you need. But rushing ahead isn’t always the best idea. Sometimes your carefully planned route takes an unexpected turn, forcing you to rethink your next move. 🐚

🇺🇸 Himizu – Fire vs. Water 🔥💧
Deep within a peaceful forest, a battle begins between two forces of nature. Fire slowly spreads across the clearing, leaving scorched earth behind. Meanwhile, Water tries to extinguish the flames and protect the forest. But which force will eventually prevail? 🌲✨

In Himizu, a strategic two-player game by 2Tomatoes Games, both players face each other with completely different objectives. Fire tries to scorch all 16 terrain tiles, while Water aims to remove every flame from the board. And if Fire hasn’t achieved its goal after ten rounds, Water claims victory.

During your turn, you move your pieces across the board and can use special powers. Each spirit has four unique abilities that allow you to influence what’s happening on the board. 🍃

But there’s an interesting twist to using these powers. The spirit stones you spend don’t disappear from the game. Instead, they go straight to your opponent! So you’ll need to think carefully about which abilities to use and what opportunities you might be giving away.

🇺🇸 Sagrada: Panorama 🌈 🪟
Sunlight shines through the colorful stained-glass windows. Each die carefully finds its place, and slowly a pattern of colors and shapes begins to emerge. But this time, your own window isn’t the only one that matters. ✨

With Sagrada: Panorama, the familiar dice-drafting puzzle of Sagrada gains a few new elements. Up to six players can now gather around the table, while different modules introduce new ways to approach your colorful creation.

The new Lightboards offer more opportunities to plan ahead, while private objectives challenge you to place specific dice in certain spaces. With the Panorama objectives, your neighbors’ windows also come into play, encouraging you to look beyond your own little masterpiece. 🎲

Six new tool cards provide additional ways to work around those moments when the dice don’t quite land the way you hoped.

The heart of Sagrada remains familiar: combining colors, following placement restrictions, and trying to score as many points as possible. Only now, there are a few more decisions to consider along the way.

The world as we once knew it is gone. Between polluted lands, small groups of people are trying to build something new. Forests slowly return, new villages begin to rise, and high above the ground, the Wind Riders travel from place to place.

In Tribes of the Wind, you slowly rebuild your own part of this world. You clear pollution, gather water, grow forests and send out your Wind Riders to build villages and temples. 🌿

What makes the game especially interesting is the way you use your cards. What you can play and how powerful an action becomes is partly influenced by the elements shown on the backs of your neighbours’ cards. So before deciding on your next move, you might find yourself taking a little peek to the left and right.

Along the way, you’ll shape your landscape, complete objectives and unlock new abilities from your Guide. Slowly, a polluted piece of land transforms into a world filled with forests and villages. ✨

🇺🇸 Floriferous 🌸🌿
The afternoon begins quietly. You wander through the garden, letting your eyes drift over the flowers appearing between the greenery. There is something to discover everywhere, and every step brings new choices.

In Floriferous, you spend three days wandering through the garden. Each turn, you take one step and choose a flower or card to add to your collection. Slowly, a colourful display begins to grow as you try to cleverly combine flowers with the cards you collect along the way. 🌼🍃

Some reward you for collecting specific flowers, while others challenge you to build your collection in a certain way. Every step may be small, but the choice you make can make all the difference later on. ✨

After three days, your walk comes to an end and it is time to count your points. Whoever has combined their flowers and cards most successfully will gather the most points. 🌺

But it is the gentle pace that makes Floriferous so lovely. There is no rush. You wander, observe, collect, and slowly watch a colourful garden come to life. A little moment of calm at the table, where you can lose yourself in everything that grows around you. 🌸🦋
