We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dave Burrluck.

For many years, Dave was one of the most respected voices in guitar journalism and a true bridge between players, luthiers, and instrument makers around the world.

At Vigier, we remember him not only for his honest, precise, and deeply informed reviews, but also for his genuine curiosity and respect for the craft of guitar making.

He had a rare ability to highlight what makes each instrument, and each builder, unique, always with fairness, integrity, and an unwavering attention to detail.

His support helped bring visibility to many independent makers, while his work on established brands pushed the entire industry toward higher standards.

Beyond his writing, he was a valued presence in the global guitar community and someone many of us were fortunate to know personally.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone across the guitar world who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.
