Milford Sound despite its name is actually a Fiord (fjord). Sound is a river valley flooded by raising sea, while a Fiord is deep valley made by glaciers. A rainy day does not give good pics but gives once is a lifetime experience of unending number of waterfalls.

Lake Rotorua is a large shallow Caldera lake. The distinct greenish blue color in the 3rd pic is from High sulfur content due to geothermal activity. Nature is the reason you visit NewZealand and it somehow reminds me of Iceland, though NZ is lush while Iceland is stark.
