I love/hate to draw.

"So, I always imagine... I imagine myself standing by the large round window, watching them walk in once again."

Another movie frame painting!
I'm really happy with how this one turned out. 🫠
If you haven't watched this movie yet, you really have to!
It's a visually stunning, raw, gut-wretching film that shows both the brutal horrors of war and the resilience of the human spirit. It has so much substance to it! I can say it's one of my favourite WWII movies.

"I could be content here, if you were with me."

(Lady Hideko to Nam Sook-hee in „The Handmaiden”)

.

I can't tell you how much I adore this movie. Every single frame is a work of art on its own.
This scene in particular is one of my favourites because it really shows how much Hideko loves Sook-hee, for her to be able to say she'll be content living at this house, in this place she hates with her whole being, as long as Sook-hee is there with her.
I tried my best to capture the terrible hurt, the anger and the sadness of Hideko after my girl Sook-hee messed things up 😅 (оr to be more precise, set things in motion, bcs after that the things really started MOVING)
I hope I've already convinced you to go watch it.
It's phenomenal.

"It has been torture, trapped in this single form, cut off from the sea. From all that I love." ˚.༄🌊˚.༄

(Calypso to Davy Jones in the 2007 film „Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End”)

There ISN'T enough fanart of my girl.
I just cannot describe to you how much my younger self loved this character and every scene in the movies with her. I hope I managed to capture her craziness right.
I really like how she turned out. I tried to add interesting textures which was fun but honestly it was a torture to draw her. 😭
She looked so bad at the beginning and I almost quit because I was really frustrated but I just kept going and now I'm glad I did so.
I also considered not posting the process this time but well.. I posted it anyway. Enjoy my suffering ig.. 🫶

"Little girls, this seems to say,
Never stop upon the way.
Never trust a stranger-friend;
No-one knows where it may end.
As you’re pretty, so be wise;
Wolves may lurk in every guise.
Now, as then, ‘tis simple truth –
Sweetest tongue has sharpest tooth!"

Sketches and studies 🦭

Today was a good day. I had plenty of free time and I used it to draw and listen to music 😌✨

I only have a couple of days left before my summer break ends, so I’m trying to enjoy my last few days of peace ✌️😔

Comment on which drawing you like the most 🌝
(The first two are my favourites 🤫)

The elderly 🪻
.
.
.

"as if, one by one, the memories you used to harbor
decided to retire to the southern hemisphere of the brain (...)
No wonder you rise in the middle of the night
to look up the date of a famous battle in a book on war.
No wonder the moon in the window seems to have drifted
out of a love poem that you used to know by heart."

(Fragments of the poem „Forgetfulness” by Billy Collins)
.
.
.

Drawing portraits of elderly people is always both fun and sad. Their faces are not smooth and flawless; they are more interesting to recreate because they are rougher and more expressive.
When I look at the references and follow the wrinkles, curves, and folds, it is like I am looking at and following a map of their lives.
I start making up stories about their lives, and then I start wondering what it will be like when I get older..

"You will think me cruel, very selfish, but love is always selfish; the more ardent the more selfish. How jealous I am you cannot know. You must come with me, loving me, to death; or else hate me, and still come with me, and hating me through death and after. There is no such word as indifference in my apathetic nature."

(Quote from „Carmilla" by Sheridan Le Fanu)

Oh wow.. I actually finished it.
This is a non-canonical fanart of vamp Laura and Carmilla.
This idea has been in my head ever since I read the book (about 2 years ago) and was completely disappointed by its ending.
Like- I'm sorry Sherry but f*ck you, I wanted my silly little happy ending! 😭

Anyway- I think I'm happy enough with the result now, so here it is. Tell me what you think in the comments.
I hope you like it, and if so, leave a heart 🫀 and (why not) follow me 🌚

OMG I'M FINALLY DONE WITH THIS! 🥳
Here's my painting for @tootielu 's #toot2kdtiys

This is my first participation in such a challenge and it was so much fun to do!

With this concept I wanted to recreate the feeling of listening to YOUR TYPE of music. You listen and it's like you're in another world and the magic exists. I chose this concept because I know @tootielu is addicted to music, just like me 😁 (btw i chose a Red Velvet song, bcs I found out that she is obsessed with them, I hope you like this song of theirs).

Let me know in the comments what you all think about my painting. I really hope you like it and if so, leave a heart and (why not) follow me. 💕 〜(꒪꒳꒪)〜 💕
