Happy Sunday! I hope you've had a lovely weekend!

Here's a little glimpse into what this book editor does in her pastime. A little of this, a little of that. Today, I balled up a hank of beautiful wool yarn. I was inspired to tackle the second hank (after a challenging experience with the first one months ago) after receiving a special gift yesterday. I've been wanting a yarn bowl for a long time, and this one was made just for me! 🤩🧶

Happy belated holidays from the Judds!
We had a nice holiday, a fun adventure to cut down our tree, delicious food, family, and the kids made out like bandits. My momma Sue came out for a lovely Christmas week, Amanda’s folks came to share in our prime rib roast Christmas dinner, and we had another lovely family day with my sister Julie and her family on the 26th. We are so thankful to have been surrounded by such loving family for the holidays.

Beneath the holiday cheer tho, things have been tough. My health specifically has been a constantly evolving challenge that has been very difficult for us. On my bad days, the burden of parenting our two kids as well as keeping our household afloat had often fell squarely on Amanda’s shoulders. She has been a saint!

Really, Amanda my Love, you have been amazing, strong, loving, supportive, and so capable in taking care and being there for me and the kids, creating a loving and delicious holiday home, and being the constant source of love and support for me in what has really been a tough stretch. I love you so much! I am so thankful for you, and I don’t know what I’d do without you. You are so beautiful, such an amazing mother and partner, and we are so lucky to have you. by @vikingbear79

First truly beautiful day that I’ve enjoyed since home. I got to see my awesome pottery friends group last night, and today was inspired to get up to the studio, throw some mugs, and enjoy the sunshine thru the open studio door. Beautiful and thankful. 🙏🙏

Day 21-
Finally home! Last evening, after some intense negotiations, I was released and my girls came and brought me home. We got home about 9:45pm.

After waking up to Evie’s laughter this morning, a good night’s sleep in my own bed, a deep clean shower, and a couple of proper coffees in a homemade mug, I feel like a new man. So thankful to be home!

After 20 days in the hospital and a failed jailbreak to a forbidden coffee shop on a different floor (I got escorted back by security!), a lung biopsy, heart catheterization and angiogram, MRI, CT, and PET scans, and about 50 blood tests, still no definite answer or clear solution, which is unfortunate. I do know tho, how important it is for me to carefully watch my salt intake, not drink too much water (!), get good sleep, and manage my electrolytes and all my meds closely. I do feel quite a bit better than when I went in, but breathing supplemental oxygen and eating a heart healthy diet with good sleep and low stress do need to be a constant from here on out.

So thankful to be home, with my family. So grateful for all the support for my family and I thru this- we love you and thank you deeply🙏🙏 by @vikingbear79

Day 18:
Confinement continues on low rations.
The guards continually promise a release, but the wardens hold fast in their continued lockdown of the prisoner. Some Bulls”!t story about non-therapeutic blood thinner levels…

Morale is low, spirits are crushing beneath the weight of the continued confinement, and the threat of Mutiny or prison break is high. The prisoner’s status as favored inmate is threatened due to his increasing hostility and use of profanity towards the guards. It would seem he is near to a breaking point from boredom and stifled life spirit. Visits from family and snuck-in rations have helped some, but only a true homecoming shall truly lift the prisoners spirit.

(I’m still in the hospital, today is day 18. I am feeling much better health wise since I got in here, have shed 20 lbs of fluids overall, all invasive diagnostic procedures are done, and I have been ready to be home for days. Still no real answers. The holdup is that l’m still on IV blood thinning meds because my usual Warfarin blood thinning oral meds are not yet in the therapeutic range to keep my blood from making clots. So daily blood tests and fingers crossed that the warfarin INR level rises to a safe range for me to go home.) by @vikingbear79

Cheers for Cheap Summertime Upgrades.

We put out our old couch on the deck after getting a nicer family-down one, I put up some shade sails over the deck, and hung some simple garden misters from the sails. Best $50 I ever did spend!!
That and a cheapo inflatable pool- makes the heat pretty tolerable. by @vikingbear79
