Check this one out! The Plant Science class created succulent arrangements to enter in the Fresno Fair. They were asked to choose a container, then given free rein of the shade house to choose 3-5 succulents.

They did great, and we are excited to report that EVERY arrangement brought home a 1st place award!

Great Job Plant Science! by @vikingflowers

Check this out! A few weeks ago, both floral classes worked in groups creating wreaths to enter in the Fresno Fair. They used various sizes of ribbon, artificial flowers and other decorative add-ons to create 15 different themed wreaths!

Not only did they do a great job with a new challenge they knocked it out of the park and EVERY wreath brought home a 1st place award!!

These wreaths will eventually be for sale at places like our spring boosters dinner, the Viking Market and even the Kingsburg Swedish Festival! by @vikingflowers

It’s officially back to school time! We kicked off the school year prepping teacher gifts 💚💛 both floral classes made sunflower bud vases, and plant science potted mini succulents. Between the three classes we hit just shy of every teacher and staff member on campus! Here’s to another school year! 💚💛💚 by @vikingflowers

The Floral 2 crew was challenged to create a floral design from scratch based off of a children’s book of their choice! This was completed as their semester 2 Final project. They planned everything from the initial idea proposal, to the blueprint, to the floral recipe/floral order.

Projects were displayed at our spring FFA awards ceremony and everyone voted for their favorite! Congrats to Tori Jones (Lady Bug girl) for earning over 50% of the votes cast! by @vikingflowers

Thank you for supporting our 1st Viking Market! It was a huge success!

Every student made multiple sales and students even SOLD OUT of products!

We did close early due to heat and it slowing in the afternoon. If plants are what you’re looking for please reach out. We have around 20 flats of 6-packs left that we would love to make a deal on!

Be on the lookout for us next year! by @vikingflowers

⭐️UPDATE⭐️

Do you remember the post about these Fab 5 and how they participated in the Floral certification exam back in April?

Well guess what… THEY ALL PASSED!! For the first time, all KHS students who took the Tier 2 exam earned a passing score! This certification is backed by California State Floral Association and qualifies a student for any entry level position in a Floral shop. Students receive an official CCF seal on their certificate.

Congratulations goes to Tori Jones, Madison Sharp, Molly Reddell, Jade Perez, and Averie Croissant

BUT WAIT.. there’s more..
Students can pass with a “proficient” or “advanced” distinction. BOTH Molly and Madison passed in the advanced category!

We are so proud of the hard work these ladies put into preparing for this exam. While 2 are graduating, 3 of them will remain in floral next year and we cannot wait to see what they design! by @vikingflowers
