An opponent with a qood high guard can be really annoying. It seems like every shot you throw doesn't land. Here are some moves you should try out!

Use the openings, a high guard can't cover your whole body. Try to target the chest and solarplexus.

Many people tend to just load up on the guard. Strike effitiently, aim behind the guard and punish the liver and the chin.

Use your own glove to manipulate your opponents defense. Shoot straight into the opened gap. After two or three times most fighters will pull their hand straight back up, break the pattern and strike to the body now.

Drills vs. Execution Pt.3

In camp we studied many fights of @lindamuays opponent and adapted to her signature moves. As she is a Muay Khao Fighter, she always tries to pressure forward and engage in the clinch. We knew that, so we drilled taking the head of the center line (danger zone) and punching right through the middle, aiming for her chin. It worked out perfectly and she couldn't really find her way in, because of the counters. As you can see Linda also used her Momentum to follow up with a knee and a beautiful sweep 😮‍💨

WBC International Champion!

Nach einer intensiven, sehr starken Wettkampfvorbereitung konnte @lindamuay am vergangenen Wochenende den Titel nach Leipzig holen. Viele Stunden spezifischer Drills und Fight Study Sessions haben sich ausgezahlt und der Gameplan konnte im Wettkampf, genau wie geplant, umgesetzt werden. Ich bin sehr dankbar für das Vertrauen in meine Kompetenz und die Möglichkeit so früh in meiner Trainerkarriere auf so großer Bühne coachen zu dürfen!
Danke an @rising_muaythai für die tolle Veranstaltung und natürlich auch an @franz.4f für die starke Zusammenarbeit in der Vorbereitung und der Ecke. Dankbar so ein starkes Team zu haben und vorfreudig auf die nächsten Aufgaben 👀

Boxen für Muay Thai
💥 👊💥

Am 19. September dürfen wir Viktor @viktor.boxing für ein Seminar zum Thema Boxen für Muay Thai im Flair begrüßen. Er ist Box-Coach im 8Weapons Gym Leipzig und bringt seine nationale und internationale Wettkampferfahrung aus dem Amateurboxen ins Muay Thai mit. Dabei stand er nicht nur selbst im Ring, sondern betreut auch Athlet:innen im Boxen und Muay Thai bei ihren Fights. Beispielsweise bereitete er Linda Faysal als Box-Trainer auf ihren WBC international Titelkampf gegen Jenny Freitas vor. Sein Ziel ist es Strategien und Techniken aus dem Boxen mit Bewusstsein für potenzielle Gefahren ins Muay Thai übertragen.

Getting pinned in the corner can get you in real trouble!

Try to stay as far away from your opponent as possible while using these, so you won't get catched. The Check hook controls the distance and keeps your opponent away while getting out, the L-step doesn't. Use fakes before taking the step to keep your opponent busy.

Try to get out as early as possible. In the best case you won't even get as close to the ropes as in these clips because you keep circling in the safe zone. Use these tools if you are getting pressured to the corner! taken in Leipzig, Germany by @viktor.boxing
