2 hours of writing in 22 seconds. BTS of Jonathan Karpinos and @joevarca working into the wee hours because that’s when the their kids are in bed and the dishes are done and the laundry is folded. Joe likes to joke that these sessions are “70% bits and 30% work” but as you can see it’s probably closer to 90% bits. In truth, this is draft we-can’t-even-tell-you-cause-we-stopped-counting but it never seems to get old and Jon and Joe have written and rewritten lyrics for 3 new songs in the last 3 weeks. Can’t wait to share more, even if it’s gonna mostly be bits. Featuring a new, never before heard excerpt from “No Matter What” written by @johnmcgroove and orchestrated by the brilliant @ryanfranksmusic. #villageofvale #newmusical #epic #fairytale #newmusicals #playwright by @villageofvale
Going deep on some of the Vale backstory with @johnnywithanh in an arrangement session the other night. I brought out this piece of artwork made for a character in Vale (The Tinkerer, who is no longer in the current show) by the incredible, singular @goodyhoran. In the lower left of the artwork you’ll see the squirrel-weasel hybrid scientific experiment, the squeasel. Their nests likely smell really bad… Listen to Part I now, wherever you stream your music! #Newmusical #epic #fairytale #villageofvale by @villageofvale
A snippet from “Listen,” the third track from ‘The Village of Vale - Part I.’ When three orphans place their hands to the ground, they hear the trees speak through their roots. The trees, known as the Y’ahra, convey a message of connection and creation. Listen now to the full record wherever you stream your music! 🌲🎶✨ #newmusic #fairytale #original #newmusical #villageofvale #fyp by @villageofvale
