After spending some time in nature this week I couldn’t help but think, the greatest lie ever told was that God lives somewhere above the sky. What if God has been within us all along? From the moment we’re born, we carry the very essence that allows us to imagine, create, destroy, question and redefine the world we live in. The rules we live by are human creations, but that doesn’t mean our actions are without consequences. The real power is understanding that we are both the creators of our reality and the ones who have to live with what we create. 👁️🌍 by @villimambu

A strong body without a strong mind is unstable. A strong mind without a body capable of carrying your ambition is limited. I’m not chasing strength for the sake of looking tough. I’m building discipline, resilience and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Every round on the pads is a reminder that the real fight isn’t against the person in front of you, it’s against the version of yourself that wants to quit. Train the body. Sharpen the mind. Build both, because one without the other is incomplete. 🐆 by @villimambu

The leopard has always been one of the most sacred symbols in Congolese culture. Long before the colonial regimes arrived, it symbolised kingship, leadership, strength, wisdom and spiritual authority across many Congolese societies. Then colonialism happened. Instead of trying to understand our culture, the colonial regime turned one of our most important symbols into a horror story. Books. Magazines. Museum exhibits. Newspapers. Films. Everywhere you looked it was the same message: “Look how savage these Africans are.” The so-called “Leopard Men” became a propaganda goldmine. Every sensational headline made it that little bit easier to convince Europeans that Congo needed to be occupied, “civilised” and controlled. Now think about that for a second. The very same colonial regime portraying Congolese people as monsters was carrying out forced labour, amputations, hostage-taking, mass violence and one of the deadliest humanitarian catastrophes of the colonial era. It’s actually mad when you think about it. A regime responsible for unimaginable suffering somehow managed to convince the world that we were the barbarians. That’s the power of propaganda. Today, when I wear leopard print, I don’t see barbarism. I see Congo. I see royalty. I see strength. I see resilience. I see a people whose symbols were taken, twisted and used against them. For centuries our story has been told by people who benefited from telling it a certain way. I think it’s about time Congolese people, and Africans as a whole, started telling our own stories. 🇨🇩 🐆 by @villimambu
