I am me. Not the town sherrif. Not the celebrity you're in love with. (Not yet, anyway.) Just me. But hey, that's all I need to be.

Missy Fortune's quinceañera. I bought her a new pink collar with a pretty pink bow and a pretty pink cake from @hollywoodbakedgoods (the cake was for the humans). Not pictured: I also got some of Missy's favorite Ezell's Famous Fried Chicken. Normally she's not allowed to have fried chicken, but I let her steal a little piece of meat (no skin, no bones.)

A Memorial For My Cat Jareth

Because I promised him I would write something for him. And because I got his ashes back today and I needed to write something for myself.

Jareth passed away on October 27th after a long battle with kidney disease. He lived a full life of 14 years, and he is survived by his little sister Missy Fortune.

He loved eating. He hated being held, but he would always let me pick him up and hold him anyway, just because he knew I liked it. Surprisingly, Jareth liked holding hands. I held his little paw one day, and from then on, he started randomly grabbing at my hands. Mostly when I was on the computer though.

I wish I could have been there for him on his last day and hold him in my arms until the very end. Actually, he would have hated that. He would have preferred to crawl into his box and wait until the end. But I could have been by his side and tell him that everything would be okay. Not physically, but like emotionally. Spiritually.

I keep asking myself if there's anything I could have done to get more time with him. Another year. Another month. Another week. Another day. Just a little more time. And there's probably lots I could have done. But the truth is, no matter how much time we have together, it'll never be enough.

Rest in peace, Jareth. I will always keep you in my heart. by @viltris

My orange cat Jareth passed away this afternoon. There's a lot I want to say, but it's all a jumbled mess right now. I need some time to gather my thoughts and give him a proper memorial. He deserves that.

RIP Jareth June 2011 to Oct 27 2025. He is survived by his little sister Missy Fortune. His collar tag now lives on as a key ring charm. by @viltris

Two pics of Missy Fortune (and me) and two pics of Jareth (and me, and a photobomb by Missy). #catsofinstagram by @viltris
