POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

39 years ago this month I went to the movies by myself and saw a double feature of Lost Boys and Robocop. A few years ago I ran some foam out of the original Lost Boys appliance molds for the Monsterpalooza tribute! Today I’m seeing the new musical with my daughter @avaviniello by @vin1fx

Why are we drawn to horror? A morbid curiosity, a genetic fascination with the macabre, and the thrill of experiencing fear safely. It's ancient, it's ingrained. #HorrorMovies #Fear #Psychology #Curiosity #Filmmaking #Macabre #Entertainment #MovieTalk #Reels by @vin1fx

From Pteranodon suits to Godzilla, the hardest part of bringing creatures to life? Staying in shape and mastering their movements. It's all about training your body and mind, even when exhausted. #CreatureDesign #SpecialEffects #FilmMaking #ActorLife #BehindTheScenes #JurassicPark #Godzilla #MovieMagic #Performance #StanWinston by @vin1fx

The struggle of prosthetics for actors: feeling restricted, overacting expressions, and enduring long hours. Some find freedom in immersion, like Jim Carrey on The Grinch. #ActorLife #Prosthetics #MakeupArtist #FilmIndustry #BehindTheScenes #ActingChallenges #JimCarrey #TheGrinch #Transformation #Performance by @vin1fx

Mike Myers hated wearing prosthetics, even for Fat Bastard! Stan Winston insisted on authentic Scottish pale skin for the character, leading to a weekend of rework. #MikeMyers #FatBastard #AustinPowers #StanWinston #SpecialEffects #MakeupArtist #FilmMaking #BehindTheScenes #Hollywood by @vin1fx

Eddie Murphy's transformation for The Nutty Professor. Rick Baker's genius makeup met Eddie's deep dive into character, sparked by one simple prompt: "Tell me about your son Sherman." #MakeupTransformation #EddieMurphy #TheNuttyProfessor #FilmMaking #ActorLife #BehindTheScenes #CharacterDevelopment #RickBaker #CreativeProcess #Reels by @vin1fx

Does physical transformation change an actor's core identity? Some use it as a tool, others a crutch. It's a fascinating craft where makeup, like for Bradley Cooper in Maestro or Colin Farrell in The Penguin, can help actors truly disappear into their roles. #Acting #Transformation #FilmMaking #Performance #CharacterDevelopment #MakeupArtistry #ActorLife #BehindTheScenes #Reels by @vin1fx

On this week's episode of Walsh Wednesday, we have Hollywood Makeup FX Artist Mark Viniello! It was a blast catching up, and trust me, we had a lot to talk about. We start off talking about his upbringing in and around the Hudson Valley, and how his early days with family and with Kevin McCurdy's Haunted Mansion led him on the path that he's on today!

We discuss moments of his career, from declaring he will work on a Jurassic Park movie when he saw the first one at the Poughkeepsie Galleria to flying to New Zealand to work on The Lord of the Rings to being on the ground floor of Stranger Things designing the demigorgons.
