Cotopaxi 🗻 it was my first time hiking an active volcano and I was unprepared for how grueling the journey would be. The wind was freezing cold, but fortunately a nice Italian couple lent me a spare jacket and beanie. I have felt short of breath just walking around Quito but this was next level. When we reached El Refugio at over 15k feet above sea level, I felt altitude sickness. But coming back down the mountain was easier and I felt better once we got back to the bus. It was a really fun group and we shared a nice lunch together after the excursion. Gracias to our guide David and Viva Ecuador 🇪🇨 taken in Cotopaxi National Park by @vincejarocki
