From wearing the Vincennes University uniform as a player to helping coach the 1970 Men’s Basketball National Championship team, Jerry Reynolds has built an incredible legacy in the game, including a 35-year career in the NBA.

Vincennes head coach Todd Franklin puts a premium on one trait when evaluating players: finding the basketball.

Whether it’s attacking the glass, winning loose balls or simply being around the action, Franklin believes players who consistently find the ball possess the motor, instincts and mentality that translate to winning basketball.

“If you have a guy that really finds the ball, that means a number of things.”

For Franklin, those habits reveal much more than a stat sheet. Players who consistently make those plays are engaged, instinctive and willing to work — qualities he believes give them a foundation to continue developing.

“If they’re that guy, they’ll end up being a good player for you.”

It’s a philosophy Franklin has valued throughout his career, helping his teams consistently prioritize rebounding and winning the loose-ball battle. by @vincennesmbb

Lending a hand. 🤝🏀

Our guys spent some time at Jay C collecting food and other items to support local organizations throughout the community.

A great day showing that being a Trailblazer means more than what happens on the court.
