What a magical moment.

I barely filmed anything that night because I simply wanted to fully live the moment. It was the first time I had seen Masters At Work, and I was absolutely not disappointed — quite the opposite.

What struck me the most was the crowd that was there that night. I saw people smiling, singing, dancing… sometimes even people who probably weren’t born yet when some of those tracks were released.

That was the moment I truly realized the huge impact Masters At Work have had on house music. I already knew the impact they had on me, but clearly, I was far from the only one.

No need for gimmicks, no excessive staging behind them: just people who came to see them, listen to them, dance, and share a real moment of music.

Thank you, @djkennydope @louievega , for everything you’ve done — for music that crosses generations and still keeps us moving.

ONE NEW RECORD. PURE DEEP HOUSE CLASS.

Un nouveau vinyle rejoint la collection : @jimpster_gram – The Phoenix EP, sorti sur le mythique Nu Groove Records.

Quatre morceaux, mais surtout cette approche que j’aime chez Jimpster : une House profonde, élégante, chaleureuse et toujours construite autour du groove.

Le genre de disque qu’on ne se contente pas d’écouter rapidement. On pose l’aiguille, on prend le temps d’explorer les différentes faces… et on cherche naturellement celui qui finira dans une prochaine sélection.

The Phoenix EP vient officiellement de rejoindre les bacs.

MASTERS AT WORK — DUB

Il y a les versions originales… et puis il y a les Masters At Work Dubs.

Moins de voix, plus d’espace pour les drums, les percussions et le groove. C’est souvent là que je retrouve tout ce que j’aime dans le travail de Louie Vega & Kenny Dope.

Une version pensée pour laisser respirer le morceau et faire parler le rythme.

Et forcément, encore un MAW Dub qui rejoint ma sélection.

There’s the original… and then there are the Masters At Work Dubs.

Less vocals, more room for the drums, percussion and groove. This is often where I find everything I love about Louie Vega & Kenny Dope’s work.

A version that gives the track room to breathe and lets the rhythm do the talking.

And of course, another MAW Dub making its way into my selection.

FINALLY… COMING ON VINYL.

Après plusieurs mois d’attente, Mercy Of Time – Louie Vega & Msaki arrive enfin en vinyle.

Le Louie Vega Mix est déjà disponible en digital et tourne déjà chez moi… mais j’attendais surtout de pouvoir poser l’aiguille sur le 12".

Et bonne nouvelle : l’attente touche à sa fin.

The Louie Vega Mix is already available digitally and has already been getting plenty of plays here… but I’ve really been waiting to drop the needle on the 12".

Cette fois, j’avais envie de mettre en avant une facette de Masters At Work que j’aime particulièrement : leurs Dubs.

Moins de voix, plus d’espace, de groove et de travail rythmique… des versions qui prennent souvent une tout autre dimension derrière les platines.

Aujourd’hui, je ressors un white label de Heller & Farley – Ultra Flava.

Un pressage sans artwork, sans fioritures… juste un white label et de la House faite pour être jouée.

C’est aussi ça que j’aime dans le digging : ressortir des disques parfois oubliés et réaliser que, des années plus tard, le groove fonctionne toujours.

Et celui-là mérite clairement de retourner sur les platines.
