Please read 🙏🏻

A lot of the vertical industry is still chasing what’s already been proven.

At Backyard Shorts, we’ve always been interested in exploring stories that fall outside the formulas currently dominating the space.

Last year, one of our original vertical projects, a Knives Out-style whodunnit, received strong feedback, but there was a sense that the market wasn’t quite ready for that type of story. More recently, we’ve started seeing similar concepts make their way into the space.

It was a reminder that sometimes an idea isn’t wrong. It just hasn’t found its moment yet.

“Let Me Feel Your Heart Beat” comes from our original slate and is built around a world we rarely see explored in vertical storytelling: DJs and nightlife.

Projects like this reflect our larger goal of exploring what vertical storytelling can become while still embracing the elements audiences already enjoy.

Here’s a proof of concept for our original vertical drama series, “Let Me Feel Your Heart Beat.” by @vincentelric

Been a wild year. Ups and downs. Music made. Films made. People lost but also people gained. Wonderful people. Was a tough year but the momentum is building and hoping to continue that momentum into this year with some incredible people at my side. I’m excited and can’t wait to see whats next. Wouldn’t want it any other way. Cheers to ‘26 🍻🥂 taken in Los Angeles, California by @vincentelric
