What a journey. Not just the 22 hours I was up and working Arbor during ZeroBPM , but from inception of the work a few years ago.

As with all my artworks, it takes time. It takes letting go. It takes frustrations, insecurity, aborted collaborations. It takes courage to trust that you're on the right path and to allow the project to grown organically into what it was always supposed to be. Giving it the diligence and time is probably the hardest thing in today's busy times, but so rewarding and a lesson i'd like to apply in my life in general.

I am so grateful I get to do this and share it with the world, and am so grateful of all the people who were part of this in some way or another.

Huge thanks to @nap_labs for translating the laws of nature into an amazing piece of software. Thanks Coen, @kuriosalesley and @dodokis

Thank you @boris.acket for your trust and belief in such a crucial stage of the artwork.

Thank you @stefan.beek and @robertjanglas for your vision and creating @thespirit.amsterdam
, a festival with so much heart.

A massive thank you to @zero__bpm , the artists and crews @ratherlost_ @orphicamsterdam @radioradio.fm @theterraera and @additaudio for all the love you put into the event and raising the club scene to a spiritual level experience. I could not have imagined a better situation for Arbor to grow into. Thank you to @brunositton for your 18hr feat. Thank you @waggie___ for producing it in such a nice way. Thank you @c.j.d.haan for producing Arbor and for the amazing lights, and thanks @aileenderuijter for the beautiful photos. Big thanks to @shoal__ for the dtudio times and experimentations.

And finally thank you to all those who came by and supported this event.

Arbor was very kindly supported by @stimuleringsfonds @afk020 and @schemerlichtfestival by @vincentrang

Last weekend was absolutely magical. Premiering my first installation alongside many friends and talented artists. A huge thank you to everyone involved; @helenabasilova for believing in the project and pushing along at moments where I couldn’t, and for creating a wonderfully dark and ominous soundtrack. @jordbeets for building it and putting up with the crazy requests. @shoal__ for jumping on board and for the fun experimentation. The DJ’s for turning the art show into a mini rave @padduan @itsdreday__ @vandtor A big thank you to @dajobodisco and the MACA crew for the incredible location. I can’t think of a better place to showcase it and hope to be back at MACA soon. @kraft_und_licht for their lights. @afk020 and @amartefonds for the support. Speaking of support, a huge thank you to all those who came, and out and of course, a massive thank you to my great friends who are always there to support, I love each and everyone of you and really appreciate your presence, you know who you are xxx by @vincentrang

Spent the past week at an artistic residency in Trenčín, Slovakia, for the @ozveny.trencin program, part of Trenčín European Capital of Culture 2026 and curated by @borisvitazek

In those few short days, @shoal__ and I walked around the forest, making visual and sound recordings that would inform the installation. During these hikes, we stumbled upon this little giant. The interrupted club moss, a vascular plant that’s been around for millions of years.

I found out it’s also a distant relative of the Lepidodendron tree, or Scale Tree.
A tree that dominated the landscape around 300 million years ago.

Using the Arbor software, developed by @nap.works.forever and @kuriosalesley , we generated versions of those ancient trees, along with a sound composition based on tree and field recordings.

Arbor has always been developed with deep time in mind. With the idea of giving people a different sense of time and connecting them with a distant past. I’m grateful to have been able to present this work in such a beautiful location.

A huge thank you to Boris Vitazek for the invitation and the thoughtful engagement throughout the production.

Still trying to find the words for this one 🥹💌
Thank you so much @draaimolen_ and especially @milovanbuijtene for trusting me so deeply with this show and giving me the space and freedom to bring this body of work to life.

This felt like a real turning point for me as an artist.
For the first time I was able to bring all the different languages I use into one space ~ composing and performing live music, singing, dancing, poetry, ritual and storytelling.

I’ve been moving towards this for a long time and to finally inhabit all those parts of myself at once and share them with y’all felt incredibly vulnerable, incredibly powerful and freeing. Like opening a new door.

The show was about Love ~ the feeling itself and our very human attempt to understand something much bigger than the words and boxes we create for it.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅,
𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓,
𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅,
𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒓 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆.
𝑾𝒆 𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒉𝒐𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒚 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍,
𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒙𝒆𝒔.
𝑾𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒐𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆,
𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒖𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅.

And of course, it was an absolute pleasure to work with you @vincentrang ❤️ I’ve wanted us to work together for such a long time and I’m so happy it finally aligned. Our synergy was immediate and we had so much fun making this together. To many more collaborations 🫂

Thank you to everyone who came and shared this moment with us. We felt you so deeply.

Big love to my agents @laura___bcr @on_boardmusic @berytus_art_music to @casaerts for the beautiful lights, to @thatcupidstunt for styling me and to @buetterich.hagen for the beautiful dress and work ❤️

This was only the beginning. So much more to come 🤍

Holandský umelec Vincent Rang prináša do mesta ARBOR – generatívnu audiovizuálnu inštaláciu, ktorá nikdy nevyzerá ani neznie úplne rovnako. Vzniká v reálnom čase, rastie, premieňa sa a zaniká. A potom začína odznova✨

Digitálne štruktúry pripomínajúce stromy a koreňové systémy sa prepájajú so zvukmi okolia zachytenými priamo v teréne. Výsledkom je imerzívny zážitok na pomedzí prírody, technológie a umenia🎶

ARBOR vás pozýva na chvíľu spomaliť. Pozorovať rast. Vnímať miesto. A možno si položiť otázku: čo znamená byť zakorenení vo svete, ktorý sa neustále mení?

📍 Trenčianske Teplice

📅 Piatok 18. 9. | 19:30 – 23:00

🎤 20:00 | otvorenie inštalácie s Borisom Vitázkom a Vincentom Rangom

Dutch artist Vincent Rang brings ARBOR to the city – a generative audiovisual installation that never looks or sounds exactly the same twice. Created in real time, it grows, transforms and disappears. Only to begin again✨

Digital structures resembling trees and root systems intertwine with sounds recorded in the surrounding environment, creating an immersive experience where nature, technology and art meet🎶

ARBOR invites you to slow down for a moment. To observe growth. To become aware of the place around you. And perhaps to ask: what does it mean to be rooted in a world that is constantly changing?

PRAE-MORIAM EXHIBITION LAUNCH

11.09.26
20:30 - 22:30
Free Entry

On Friday, 11 September, we launch the final period of our residency program.

For the final months of TILLATEC, the works of Vincent Rang and Kuangyi Xing bring a new dimension to the club: grasping, reconstructing, and archiving the energy and atmospheres.

PRAE-MORIAM captures environmental abstractions and unfathomable perceptions of the night, transforming in real time, living on as a memory.

For this opening we created a special program with performances by Elisa Zuppini, xuxu & Kiki and a live set by Andrés Soria.

Curated by @lea_petrasova and @meggievanzwieten

Vincent Rang - Sometimes gardens give different flowers

Sometimes gardens give different flowers (2026) is a site-specific installation that translates club activity into a growing sculptural garden. Temperature and humidity sensors, directly connected to the Arbor software, generate a unique digital growth each night. Every week, one of these digital growths is translated into a 3D-printed sculpture and added to the installation. Over the course of the residency, the garden continues to grow, culminating with the permanent closing of the club.

The sound composition also draws from temperature and humidity, reacting to the activity in the club through murmurings and sound recordings made during the residency by sound artist Kenny Kneefel (Shoal).

In this way, the garden becomes an archive of the collective blooms and growth that have taken place within these walls over the club’s final two months. Growing alongside the club as it approaches its end, the work reflects on the beauty and ephemerality of club culture, and on those special moments of collective catharsis that emerge within it: moments that exist intensely, briefly, and then disappear.

Vincent Rang is a Dutch artist based in Amsterdam, working with video, installation, and generative systems. His practice investigates movement, growth, and transformation through time-based visual processes that combine digital techniques with physical experimentation.

Meditations on time, geology and ancestry

As part of my residency at @casatagumerche on La Gomera, I spent my days hiking, reflecting, and meditating on ancestry and deep time.

I felt drawn to work with clay and earth; materials that, like the body, carry traces of deep time within them. Across the island, I gathered different soils and earths, slowly transforming them into workable (ish) clay. The process became a way of physically engaging with the geology of the island: shaping, touching, and listening to the land itself, as well as embodiying that which arose in my body.

Grateful for this experience, and already looking forward to returning to that magical island. Big thanks to @casatagumerche and @uschigroos taken in La Gomera, Islas Canarias by @vincentrang
