It’s been a week but I still can’t get over it!!!

Seeing #BLACKPINK @blackpinkofficial perform live for the first time since 2016 (or waaaay past that if y’all gon’ count my #PinkPunk rumor days), it was a long journey, and honestly, a long overdue experience — a long-time dream I’ve been yearning for so damn loooooong.

My university friends (acquaintances even) can truly attest how badly hyped I was during the pre-release of BOOMBAYAH + 휘파람 / WHISTLE, all the way to comeback promotions of 불장난 / Playing With Fire, STAY, and even 마지막처럼 / AIIYL.

Those were truly the heydays of my 3rd gen K-Pop stan era — alongside stanning RV, GFRIEND, TWICE, Lovelyz, OH MY GIRL +++ all in their glorious and youthful debut days.

While BP’s discography isn’t that of a multitude compared to its fellow 3rd gen girl groups, being able to sing every song and rap word by word was something I was only able to do during banging concert sesh in the shower.

As I’m writing this descript, I still can’t believe I did it with all the fellow BLINKs in the massive arena. That’s also a reason why most of my clips were cut not in their signature / legendary parts (and pardon if you’ll hear my squeaky voice in certain sections of this Reel).

And, even if each member now belong to separate agencies, it’s still a true blessing how I was able to witness their very-recent solo releases — while still being able to relive and sing all the classics that made me stan them since Day 1!

I may have screamed, sung, rapped, and jumped “As If It’s My Last”, hopefully, this won’t be the last — esp that I’m not really the concert-goer typa fan.

Let’s conclude this tour with “See U Later”… without the “Maybe, Never” part.

** I’ve tried compressing the concert as much as I can but my busy sched and everyone’s attention span simply won’t make me dare and go beyond the 3-min algo limit.

From my soulful self along the streets of Seoul to the steep stairways of Chongqing, my 2024 has been a spectacular year at least in terms of travel — with places I never thought I’ll see.

Seeing Taiwan and capybara for the third time is a charm. Let alone going back to HK again for the second time around (last was 5 years ago).

Still, 2024 has a fair share of firsts like 2023 — which I’ll eternally cherish:
- 1st time in my DREAM COUNTRY🇰🇷 since 2009 (also 1st application + approval)
- 1st time in Macau🇲🇴, Chongqing🇨🇳, Cebu🇵🇭
- 1st time in airports: ICN, CKG, CEB
- 1st time in Chongqing West, HK West Kowloon railway stations
- 1st time riding CRH (China Railway Hi-Speed)
- 1st time in Causeway Bay, Ngong Ping
- 1st time in Hong Kong Disneyland🇭🇰
- 1st time in Everland
- 1st time seeing pandas, red pandas, lions, tigers, hyena, bear IRL
- 1st time using bus + local rail in TW for commute
- 1st time riding double-decker buses in HK (open + close type)
- 1st time riding Greater Bay Airlines
- 1st ever smartphone factory tour
- 1st overseas travel with HS circle as a quintet
- 1st sub-zero winter (2º to -5ºC)
- 1st solo hotpot
- 1st time eating bamboo shoot
- 1st time having Luckin Coffee / Dicos / Fairwood / Cafe de Coral
- 1st Donki in HK + Daiso in KR with 12F levels
- 1st time seeing an SM mall outside PH (SM City Chongqing)
+++ this list could go forever but the character limit and everyone’s attention span aren’t.

My 2024 is like Everland’s T Express rollercoaster ride: mindfucking and scary at first yet very fulfilling at the very end.

You have to try out new things but also, continue pushing even when your greatest fears scare the shit out of you.

2024, you’re one of the best years I’ve had especially with all these travels and new experiences.

I’ll always feel privileged with all these flights / out of country trips —regardless if solo-funded or for work purposes.

Catching flights, NOT feelings will be my new mantra for 2025 and moving forward 😇

365 days and 1000+ recorded videos later, I tried to heavily compress much of my 2023 in just under 70 seconds.

I always encounter a lot of ups and downs every year. But 2023 was just THAT different. From several pet losses to my almost loss of life that led to more losses financially (and mentally), it’s been a hell of a ride.

Yet the universe still made me see and experience things I totally love and live for.

While it was my first time being confined in a hospital, I still had more optimistic firsts:
- First time in a completely remote island
- First international travel intended for leisure
- First TWICE concert
- First international concert (that eventually got cancelled — then again another first)
- First time exploring Bangkok and parts of Ratchaburi + Samut Songkhram
- First capybara encounter
- First airport layover experience
- First work-related international travel since the pandemic
- First time in Guangzhou + Shanghai
- First time seeing majestic skyscrapers IRL (Canton, Shanghai, Shanghai IFC, Oriental Pearl, Jin Mao, MahaNakhon)
- First authentic winter experience
- First Shanghai MagLev Train + Boeing Dreamliner ride
- First Disneyland ever

This list could go on and on and on — but the character limit and everyone’s attention span won’t let me do it.

Being able to travel again after three years ever since the 2020 pandemic was my true 2023 wish. It got granted not just once, thrice even.

I obv don’t belong to the elite social class so traveling for me always felt like a privilege. Going to a lot of sights and sceneries, seeing people’s way of life, respecting their culture, learning how to explore the stranger city by yourself and having to deal with things alone, and being open-minded to a lot of stuff you’ve never seen, heard, or experienced before are just the best things when traveling.

Thank you for the memories, 2023.

Hoping to more flights, metro rides, and concrete jungle slash skyscraper appreciation this 2024.

To celebrate my Thailand personality last month, I consolidated the clips I took and edited ‘em in just under a minute of short-form video (bc apparently this is the new “in” thing and the “future of content creation” 🫠).

Went thru a lot of steps along many streets and pavements in various places but everything won’t obviously fit in such a compact video. So pardon me for the fast cuts, sped-up clips, and lots of transitions in-between.

Still, here are the wonderful ultra-wide footages I shot: from the skies of Thailand to my arrival in Bangkok starting at Suvarnabhumi all the way to their prestigious malls like centralwOrld and ICONSIAM (coincidentally both having Apple Stores) as well as the lego-like MahaNakhon Skyscraper x Bearbrick exhibit (that I truly love as an architecture-loving human trash slash Hypebeast wannabe).

There’re also the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market in Ratchaburi plus Mae Klong Railway in Samut Songkhram — landmarks located in the outskirts of Bangkok.

There’s just so much to explore and an almost one week of stay isn’t enough. Obv this is why I uploaded a separate video of my Bangkok capybara café visit.

What an exhilirating experience, really especially if you go these places all by yourself.

This zoo slash garden themed café not only serves refreshing drinks, you can also feed the three capybaras together with their other furry friends: chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats and even a wallaby!

LE SSERAFIM is ANTIFRAGILE but I am FRAGILE for them as I was not able to resist buying their first ever official lightstick 🫠

Even though I’m NOT the merch collector type of fan, the FEARNOT BONG is one of K-Pop’s most unique lightsticks ever made.

While I slightly whined and scrutinized its design lookin’ like a hair iron/straightener slash baseball bat slash security guard stick (batuta) the moment t’was announced, I still fell in love with its overall uniqueness over time.

I sound like a broken record for always saying I’m that veteran K-Pop stan for more than 15 years, but the FIMMIES’ BONG is currently the 4th lightstick that I own. Can y’all believe the first one I bought was just last 2020 (hint: from a 3rd gen non Big 3 group 😭)

Pardon for I haven’t given much justice to this unboxing I shot and edited swiftly. Also 미안쏘스뮤직 for splicing The Hydra bc I rly wanted to fit it in just the usual minuter Reels time frame.

The power of #GalaxyS23Ultra and its 10x Periscope Zoom Lens is just unbelievable.

Being able to zoom in further to 30x zoom (230mm equivalent) is still a great feat when it comes to mobile photography.

Only a handful of smartphones can do periscope zoom wonders past the 10X mark up ‘til the 100X zoom — and those are the HUAWEI P50 Pro / P60 Pro / Mate 50 Pro, HONOR Magic4 Pro / Magic5 Pro. Heck, there’re even the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and OPPO Find X6 Pro that can zoom as far as 120X! But so far, the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s the most natural yet when it comes to moon shots.

TL;DR
It may be a blessing in disguise that I’m sleep-deprived rn because of my f’ed up body clock but the full moon (worm moon during the time of shooting) from the view of my broken window at around 5-6AM was so bright and shiny AF I thought it was the Sun. I then felt like I had the need to get out of my bed, take my phone out, zoom in, and take such photo.

So pleased with the results. Appreciated the results more after I played with the shot using VSCO and Snapseed.

[Ruins III]

The color yellow might be a bright color but in the Philippines, it's a color that the paid trolls from [redacted] despise. Turns out, that political party did more than what the other party is planning.

Juxtaposition: the last shot was actually the tree above the first photo. Idk but it reminds me that growth will still prevail in suffering times like this.

[Ruins II]

I'm a real sucker for symmetrical perspective shots -- which is quite evident if you'll take a glimpse of my Instagram feed.

I honestly thought Corregidor Island isn't the best place to practice that particular shot style, but I still found interesting subjects and was able to corporate my love for architecture even in these ruins. You will find them often around Mile-long barracks, the abandoned military hospital, and more.

But just because these buildings were ruined, it doesn’t mean they’re worthless. In fact, I can recall how the tour guide pointed out that there were zero vegetation around the island after the catastrophic bombing. Also, these destroyed landmarks truly show how they survived and managed to keep their overall structure — just without those glass windows and wooden walls.

[Ruins I]

After many, many months of feed inactivity, I can say I'm (kinda) confident and "brave" enough to post something again.

Back when I was a kid, I only knew of Corregidor Island as part of Philippine History textbooks. Most (if not all) Filipinos would think of the place as a “haunted island” due to the number of casualties during World War II.

To those who are unfamiliar, Corregidor Island is located several kilometers away from Manila. The ferry trip took about two hours before we reached the port. Despite being near the shore of Bataan, don’t be confused as this island is part of the province of Cavite.

If you look at the museum diorama at the second photo, the island’s shape reminds us of a “tadpole” — but I thought of something else entirely 👀 IYKYK

And if you love museums like I do, you'll be pleased to see the Pacific War Memorial Museum at Corregidor's peak. It may not be as extravagant as other museums out there, but you'll surely learn a lot from how the island nourished and got ruined in several years of American and Japanese occupation in this country.
