I still can’t wrap my head around this. I was just talking to you last week. Never in a million years did I think that would be our last conversation. This one hurts in a way I can’t even explain. I still can’t believe I’ll never hear you call me “big head” again. I’d do anything just to hear you say it one more time. You were so much more than family to me. You were my mentor, my uncle, and one of the biggest reasons I became the person and basketball player I am today. You believed in me, pushed me when I needed it, and never let me settle for less than my best. Every lesson you taught me, every piece of advice you gave me, and every moment we spent together helped shape me into who I am. Thank you for always being there, for cheering me on, for correcting me when I needed it, and for loving me like your own. You made such a huge impact on my life, and I don’t think you’ll ever truly know how much you meant to me. It hurts knowing I won’t be able to call you, laugh with you, or make more memories together. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye, and I don’t think I ever will be. But I promise I’ll keep making you proud. Every time I step on the basketball court, I’ll carry your lessons, your voice, and your belief in me. I’ll keep going because I know that’s what you would want. I love you, Mike. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me. Until we meet again, I’ll miss you every single day. Rest easy. You’ll forever have a place in my heart, and I’ll forever the man who helped me become the person I am today, believed in me, and loved me unconditionally. by @vine_spirit
