Lyla - Weekend 1.

This has been the most amazing experience. @shanedzmilfilm and I had the unimaginable privilege to direct a project at the Utah Film Studios. Lyla was the very first production to use film at the studio, and we’re honored to be a part of that history. I can’t thank my incredible gaffer and executive producer, @garretthettinger , enough for not only the amazing lighting in this film, but for helping us acquire a set within the studio. Without you, none of this would have been possible. And a huge thanks to @utahfilmstudios for letting us use their space and being so kind and supportive. Much love🫶

And to my brilliant producer, @fefapinaffi , thank you for your unbelievable hard work. You pulled off a miracle in the last minute by grabbing all the art team and building a cinematic, beautiful capsule with them (a capsule that is going to be in my living room).

A huge shoutout to the incredible Art Directors @emmma.holland and @davie.3k and everyone on the art team! In these photos, it’s clear that the cabin looks absolutely stunning, and it wouldn’t be possible without you.

A big shoutout to our 1st AC @sierradoes.art and 2nd AC @chrissteezy.films , and @c_e_klose954 ! Thank you so much for taking care of all the film camera reports and for taking care of the awesome ARRIFLEX 35 III.

I want to give a big shoutout to my incredible financial producer and super PA, Carson! @carson_burgess15 was a lifesaver for us, helping us transport equipment, setting up and taking down set, and even kept track of how the budget was going.

@camden_mcdonald , @its_derae and @ropesquidstudio ! You all are incredible Assistant Directors! Shane and I are so thankful to all of you for helping us keep on time and making sure everyone was safe and well. You guys truly did amazing.

Also, a huge shoutout to all the grips and dolly grips for being so ready to change all the lighting to get beautiful, epic shots! And a huge shoutout to my script supervisors, Isra and @hydrignis you guys did amazing keeping record of continuity. And a huge shoutout to @ellamei_ for all the makeup and costume setup for our talents, they looked gorgeous.

Just a little peek behind the scenes of Lyla.
Lots of laughs, long days, and real emotion went into this one.
Crazy how much heart goes into telling a quiet story.
