Like… how is this actually just a random village?

There’s no famous landmark here.
No bucket-list attraction.
No dramatic mountain in the background.

Just a few old houses, a quiet little road, stone walls, tiny gardens, and that ridiculously green English countryside.

And somehow, all of it together looks completely unreal.

The weirdest part is that this probably feels completely normal to the people who live here.

They see these houses every day.

They walk these roads every day.

They probably don’t even stop to notice how beautiful it looks.

But when you see it for the first time, you can’t help but think…

how is this just an ordinary English village?

And now I’m wondering how many places like this I’ve driven past without ever stopping. by @vinishchitra

I came here thinking I’d found a restaurant with one of the best views on Albania’s southern coast.

Then I started reading about the village.

Piqeras has a much deeper history than a peaceful coastline makes you think. In the 18th century, conflict forced many local families to leave the village, and some eventually crossed the Adriatic and established an Albanian community in Italy.

Today, this amazing restaurant is above the Ionian Sea run by a family (grandparents, parents and kids), you can enjoy the food looking across the place that has seen generations of people leave, return and rebuild.

Somehow, the view feels a little different once you know that.

And yes, the food was worth stopping for too.
