I’ve been trying to find the words to describe what the return of moe.down meant to me and how deeply it touched my soul and spirit.

The other morning, I woke up and opened The Daily Good, an email I read every day. The message of the day was:

“Cultivate a strong sense of community, and take every opportunity to gather, connect, and linger a little longer.”

I’m not sure I could say it any better, because that’s exactly what this band called moe.has created.

It’s what the band does. It’s what the crew does. It’s what management does. It’s what every single person working behind the scenes does. And it’s what the fans do. Together, they’ve built something so much bigger than music. They’ve built a community...a famoe.ly.

The return of moe.down was amazing on so many levels. I loved everything about it.

One of my favorite full-circle moments was watching Hodge’s dog, Miko, win Mayor of moe.down. I don’t even remember how many years it’s been since Hodge held that title himself—12 years? More? Yet here we are all these years later, Hodge is still with us, and his dog wins. It’s those little moments that warm my heart and remind me why this community is so special.

These guys have endured so much over the years, yet they just keep moving forward. They keep doing it their way, with authenticity, heart, humility, and gratitude. There’s something incredibly inspiring about that.

I’ll admit, I found myself overwhelmed with emotion more than once. I’m sure some of you saw me crying at both SPAC and moe.down. Those weren’t tears of sadness, they were tears of gratitude. Gratitude for this music, these people, and this incredible extended family that has been there through the highs and lows of life.

We are so incredibly lucky.

I wouldn’t want it any other way.

To six of my favorite fellas: thank you for giving us the soundtrack to our lives. And to every member of this beautiful famoe.ly.....thank you for making it feel like home by @vinnieamico
