A free, day-long journey through soul, jazz, ambient & groove, where soul-jazz nostalgia meets the present tense in a show of cross continental coming together. Bringing together live performances from low-key R&B legend, Eddie Chacon (LA), “one of the most exciting new bands in the UK” Knats (UK) & Denmark’s disco prince turned bossa nova excellency, Vinnie Who (DK), blended seamlessly together with vinyl sets from (Jazz at Balders Plads) presenter, Christian d’Or. Kasper Bjørke & Astrid Engberg too will be behind the decks.

A story that unfurled from Eddie Chacon’s recent performances at Loppen and our affinity for Stones Throw Records - leaving us wanting to present their music under the good sun. We are delighted to present Eddie Chacon, accompanied & supported by “Geordie Optimists” & rising stars, Knats for their collective & standalone Danish debuts, underneath sun-kissed Jazz at Balders Plads limetrees & the Copenhagen summer breeze.

Curated by collaborators Christian d’Or and Thank You For Clapping, the Nørrebro-based platform for sound, music and objects. Operating from Heimdalsgade 39, TYFC hosts listening sessions, workshops, exhibitions and live performances - bringing together people across genres and generations. taken in Balders Plads by @vinniewho

Up To You feat. Vinnie Who out now!!

English below 👇🏼

Up To You feat. Vinnie Who is out now!!

Back in 2011, I was standing in a fancy clothing store in central Copenhagen with a friend, looking at clothes we couldn’t afford, when we suddenly saw Vinnie Who walk into the shop. We completely froze and were utterly starstruck, nudging each other and whispering back and forth that it was actually the @vinniewho standing just a few metres away from us.

If someone had told me back then that 15 years later we’d be releasing a song together, I definitely would have been sceptical.

Up To You is a smooth and funky slow-disco track that I wrote with the brilliant @markusartved . A song that, to me, practically begged for Vinnie Who to sing on it. As it happened, he absolutely nailed it, to the point where I knew it had to be the first single from my upcoming album, which will be released on a beautiful sunny day sometime next year.

Hope you like it ❤️ by @vinniewho

Hej venner,
