Goodbye October & Happy Halloween 🎃👻

I'm still making most of every chance I get to be outdoors, the weather won't be on our side for much longer!

It's Halloween eve!! 🎃

A homegrown urki chirki (or whatever they're called 😂) for my ladies to carve 🐔

They'll be having pumpkin spiced everything with the amount of squashes we have and we still have little pumpkins growing at the plot too!

And finally a dry day with a little bit of sunshine 🙌🏼 woohoo ☀️

Swipe across to zoom into the moon 🌚

Last night's hunter moon 🌝

We've got a poorly house at the minute so us girls took the littles on an evening walk to get some fresh air and it was full moon night ✨
The weather last night was so warm we didn't get home until 9pm!

And it looks like the rest of the week is dry which means I'll be pottering about the garden until everyone is feeling better 🫶🏼

Happy Tuesday everyone 🥰

The pumpkin table 🧡

Was previously the tomato table and then the herb table and now the pumpkin table, soon to be the Halloween table ✨

The table of seasons is forever changing and I love it!!

Proud of my little homegrown pumpkins although the big pumpkins were picked from the farm because the slugs ate mine 🙈

I can't wait for the grandkids to come over at Halloween to paint a pumpkin 🎃🎨

I've waited all year for this!!
My favourite time of year 🎃
Did I tell you I love autumn?? This is autumn!!!

It's a little bit chilly but the sunshine is warm and there's a scent of magic in the air ✨

Perfect witchy weather at the pumpkin farm today 🪄

Dahlia, calendula & snap dragons are still going at the plot 🙌🏼
Also lavender, nasturtium and apricot stocks but forgot to take the pics!

The dahlia was meant to be mango madness but it looks more lavender ruffles to me the flowers are HUGE!!
Calendula red buff
& Snap dragons are apple blossom my absolute faves!!

I will leave these to go to seed for next year 🤩

The radish are ready! 🫜

I finally had a free day at the allotment today and it felt so good to be eating tomatoes on the plot again 🥰

I got the whole plot strimmed and tidied ✔️
Next time I'll hoe the beds and clear the greenhouse ready for the autumn sowings 🌱

The raspberries & blackberries need cutting back & the apple trees need a haircut but the leeks are looking good and the water butts are filling back up 🙌🏼

The parakeets were out which was lovely to hear, the sun was shining and it just reminded me how much I love my plot especially at this time of year ✨

October flowers in the garden 🌸

I keep deadheading and they keep coming back 🙌🏼
Some dahlias are looking a bit worse for wear but they've not gave up yet!

The roses are most definitely the top performers in my garden this year I'll miss all this when winter comes but soon I'll be planting the spring bulbs, there's so much to look forward to in the garden
It's like forever changing magic ✨

Don't be jealous of my huge potato harvest 😂

To be fair Paris pulled the plants out early 🙄
so maybe they would of been better had she not been so eager!

If like me you don't get to harvest enough potatoes for even one person then you can brush the soil off them and store them in a dark place (mine are going in the drawer) and save them for spring, replant them instead of buying seed potatoes 🙌🏼

I might not of grown a full sack of spuds but I did grow next years seed potatoes 🌱🥔

And because we've pulled up a few carrots to see how they're doing, Paris now thinks she can pull up literally everything 😭🙈

Yesterday at the plot 🌱
When I say everything has self seeded I mean EVERYTHING HAS SELF SEEDED!!!

The grass has returned from the dead, hurrah 🙌🏼
...but guess who lost the strimmer battery 🫠

Anyway the rent is due and we all know what's going to happen...
I'll pay for another year,
Spend all autumn winter prepping planning and working hard to create something magical here,
I'll spend the whole of spring nurturing my seed babies planting them out making the plot look perfect,
And in summer I will be an overwhelmed hot sweaty mess, the bind weed and watering will get the better of me so I'll ignore it all and pretend I don't even have an allotment, everything will die and I'll just pay again for another year 😫😭 ...what a shit show 🤣😂

Happy weekend everyone ✌🏼

The herb table in October 🖤

The herbs have had a haircut (I've drank most of them 😂) some for drying, some for grinding & some for spells of course 🌿

The witchy vibes are here!! 💫

And it's still warm enough to sit out around the table under the outback shack and enjoy the garden in all it's magic ✨

Nothing says October like a witches brew 🖤
Ps.. nobody was poisoned 😂

Homegrown Lemon balm & Mint tea 💚
Also perfect in a diet coke too!

Another of my favourite months, it's time to get out the hat & broom!! 😉 🧹 🔮

Happy October witches ✨
