Sewing and creating definitely have a positive impact on my mental health. When everything else in life gets a bit stressful, turning to a bit of sewing somehow makes me feel grounded and a little bit better. I recently took a visit to @bronteparsonagemuseum and was so inspired by the replica quilt of the one made by the Brontë sisters, that I had to make a small project inspired by it. I think it’s incredible that some of the greatest writers the English language has ever seen also sewed amazing quilts by hand (Jane Austen made an EPP quilt too)If you haven’t visited the Parsonage Museum in Haworth, I highly recommend you take a visit. Winding the bobbin and threading the machine, having fun playing around with this 96 year old Singer 28k! I still managed to get the thread caught, I will get there eventually!This machine only cost £30 in a charity shop and it sews like a dream, proof you don’t need to spend the high prices they can go for on eBay. #vintagesingersewingmachine by @vintagesewingbox

I recently got this machine working even better by buying a new shuttle and now the tension is perfect. Despite its age, this machine sews perfect stitches every time, it’s so easy to use and actually feels relaxing!I’m often asked does my arm ache?🤣 I have to say, not yet! The Wildflower Wall Hanging has been keeping me busy and I’m really enjoying it. These are my completed blocks so far, I’m just finishing off this months which I will share soon. It’s my favourite time of year again, bluebell season, and it’s arrived early this year. I always go to all of the local bluebell spots to see them, in the park there are pink white and blue ones and in the woods there are thousands of native English ones. It’s so magical, they will always captivate me. Have you seen the bluebells near you this year?As I love them so much, they’ve featured in my designs a few times. This year in the wildflower wall hanging and also in the flower of the month mini quilts. They will always be a theme in my designs.#handsewing #patchwork #bluebells by @vintagesewingbox
