End of the journey of UK to South Africa! Leaving this morning with 140 km to go. Lubo and Dylan at the hotel, guys at the petrol station, KFC security, the first main Cape Town sign as you enter the city. Although this is the official end of the journey, I will still try and get to the end of the Peninsula on the other side of Table Mountain tomorrow. by @vintagetenere

Fish river canyon and desert scenes to the south. Also got blocked by flooding river that was chest deep - could not go off-road round the sides due to deep sand or massive rocks. Tomorrow I cross the border into South Africa. by @vintagetenere

Away from the coast now, heading towards the petrified trees in the dunes at Sossevlei. Motorbikes not allowed so hitched a ride with Jennie and her dad Witek from Germany. Nice day out, off the bike. Feeling sad that trip has the end coming. by @vintagetenere

Incident-While riding along, I stopped for a break to remove my jacket because it was really hot but forgot to tie it down properly on the back of the bike. So while riding along at 70 km/h the jacket flew off got tangled in the back wheel. It locked up the back wheel , but I thought the engine had seized so I pulled in the clutch and managed to bring the long skid to a halt. Moral of the story is always wear your jacket and if you don’t make sure it’s tied down properly on the bike. by @vintagetenere

Heading down skeleton Coast. Torah Bay petrol station seems out of action, got stuck in salty mud trying to visit a shipwreck, bike needed a good wash because of the salt, quite pleased with driving 500 km with no fuel stations available on one tank. by @vintagetenere
