Cold without the darkness would feel so strange.

My second Interpol adventure, first to New York, now to San Francisco! I'd be a complete liar if I said I wasn't crazy about this band, especially the divine Daniel Kessler.
There were many highlights throughout both nights, but See Out Loud from their upcoming LP has a special place in my heart, nothing is better than Daniel on vocals. 🖤
Really hope to catch them again soon!!

Also would like to note this past month has been quite awesome yet hectic so I haven't got to posting about both the Return of Jackie & Judy show, and spending two weeks in Mexico for a study of Architectural Rendering. Thank you to everyone who has helped to make these adventures possible. Also was so happy to meet the folks I did at Interpol, as well as at the Jackie and Judy show. Also shoutout to @maxine_mp3 for the virtual accompaniment and tolerating my various arbitrary messages. And shoutout to whoever handed out the picture cards of Daniel & Paul.

Interpol - Brooklyn Steel Night 3 (12/5/2024)

I'm simply out of words to describe seeing Interpol play in their hometown.

Turn on the Bright Lights is a record that has changed my life, its hauntingly beautiful atmosphere does not shy away from being vulnerable. The countless other records they have released since carry such a unique & mysterious energy that no other band can quite emulate.

Paul Banks can tell stories with simply the sound of his voice, with a radiating primal echo.
Daniel Kessler is such an amazing guitarist, creative force, & human being. His flamboyant stage presence is simply unmatched.

I was moved to have been able to be right in front of Daniel during the show, he especially has meant a lot to me. He was also fun to photograph too, he is such an incredible performer.

Sleater-Kinney fucking burned down the Wiltern last night. My mind is still, even as I'm writing this, processing everything from last night.

Though I really miss Janet's incredible/other worldly force and didn't get to see her live with Carrie and Corin, this concert brought me closer to believing how much music is important to me.

Growing up watching Portlandia and listening to Sleater-Kinney as a kid, it's been one of my goals to see Carrie Brownstein in person because she's someone I've always greatly admired. No one, like NOBODY has the same presence on stage like Carrie and Corin. I was transfixed because even though I already knew having a bad shot of Carrie playing on stage is impossible, I was in constant awe of her moves and jumping on stage and absolutely shredding and screaming at the same time. She along with Black Francis are my personal favorite screamers <3

If Sleater-Kinney is playing any shows, seriously go see them.

(I wish I could add more songs ahhh)

super late to posting this... but saw Ladytron!!!

i've been really loving their mysterious new album, Paradises. the thing i love about this band is that they constantly reinvent themselves and go in a direction in which only *they* are capable of visualizing and materializing. The craft is a new planet everytime, and their shows pull you into something that is profoundly stimulating, both sonically and visually. super sweet people too!

Interpol - See Out Loud (2026)
Improvised Bass Cover

First time picking back up the bass in a long while. This is Interpol's new track (that has yet to be officially released) so I used audio from YouTube, uploaded by The Interlude.

Considering it's Daniel's first time singing on a track since PDA & Song Seven, it's a big fucking deal for me and fellow interpoleros.

As time as gone along, I've tended to care less and less about perfection in my covers, so ofc this doesn't repeat the bassline verbatim. Whether my interpretation of the bassline is too much or too little is up for you to decide. by @vio.debaser

Since 2025 is almost over, I thought I'd share some concert highlights for this year. While it was an awful year for world events, the concerts I went to helped me through. The Pixies, Pulp, and Garbage were my main highlights.

I didn't get much footage of Pulp, though they never disappoint. The Pixies were significant because they played Bossanova/TLM in full. Garbage was significant too, in a lot of ways. Shirley is my Roman Empire.

Pixies Clips:

2. Cecilia Ann
3. The Happening
4. Blown Away
5. Space (I Believe In)

Pulp:

6. Do You Remember the First Time

Garbage Clips:

7. Band walking onstage to Laura Palmer's Theme / There's No Future In Optimism

8. I Think I'm Paranoid
9. #1 Crush
10. When I Grow Up
11. Only Happy When It Rains

Looking forward to shows again in 2026! ^^ by @vio.debaser

Helllos I know this is my first post in a while, but as of the past 24 hours, this show has left me speechless.

I can't believe stupid people saying @garbage is too old, their playing has only gotten better over the years (I'm convinced). I've had their latest album on repeat, it's easily one of their very best, if not THE best, IMPO. Shirley is nothing short of a god or goddess or whatever the hell the "right" word is. They're the same thing to me i don't care.

The last time I saw them was on my last day of high school, they were on the same bill as Metric and Noel Gallagher, at the Greek Theater. I was so far back to the left (right from the stage) that I couldn't even see Butch Vig. Seeing them up close, and practically making eye contact with Shirley at some points was nothing short of surreal. 🖤

And just the day prior to this show, we all stuck it to the diabolical regime with our votes. Perhaps it is a fact that there's no future that can't be designed.

9. The Day I Met God
10. Only Happy When It Rains
11. Stupid Girl (best Shirley moment)
12. Short speech from Shirley and a snippet of The Trick is to Keep Breathing

Also my 12-year-old self from the summer of 2017 would be over the moon about seeing Queer live, I binge watched the music video at that time. I love how awesomely terrifying Shirley is in that video, def one of my favorite videos of all time. by @vio.debaser
