As @pff_amsterdam gets close to their open call for the 2027 edition of the festival, we’re looking back on the collaboration between Climax Change and Amsterdam-based artist @violarenate for this year's edition. As part of the partnership, Viola created six couture condom stations for each location of the festival. This thoughtfully curated festival was born from the idea that intimate media doesn’t have to be disposable and unethical, but instead can be artistic, political, moving, thought-provoking, and a catalyst for self-discovery. 📸 :@maartjehensen by @violarenate

We’re excited to announce the upcoming presentation of Heartcore Disk, a new exhibition by Viola Renate. Hosted by Atlas Amsterdam from June 12 to 28 at Oudezijds Voorburgwal 72. Heartcore Disk presents a new body of work centred around Viola Renate’s Post-digi Medallions, alongside Wall Candies, Helix Disks and immersive print décor. Through digital composition, print, sculpture and installation, she explores how digital imagery can be translated into physical form and everyday experience. Drawing from the visual language of Amsterdam’s historic city centre, the works combine local ornament, folklore, cyberpunk influences and personal iconography. At the heart of the exhibition is an interest in bringing technology back to a human scale, transforming fleeting digital images into tactile objects that invite presence, interaction and reflection. Part of the exhibition includes a series of wearable medallions, in which digital compositions become graphic jewellery designed for movement and social exchange. Functioning as tactile conversation starters, the pieces open up new ways of experiencing digital image culture beyond the screen. GRWM Director’s Cut! 📽️ It was such a joy to create this entire look. Graphic artist @violarenate created this beautiful custom print. She made a dreamscape of light, shadow and water elements inspired by my natal chart with five planets in scorpio. We then had a few meetings together with @jacobkok to digitally pattern each individual part of the look for the best final result. We then ordered the fabric to be printed, and Jacob meticulously designed the entire look with my helping hand.
