hi, I'm Violet! 🌸

I finally decided to start sharing my reading here, which is both very exciting and a little scary.

I mostly read romance and fantasy, but I wander into history and fiction when the mood strikes.

I'm 26 and live in Puerto Rico, where it's sunny almost everyday and yet I still choose to read indoors with a coffee in hand. I speak english and spanish, though most of my reading is in english. You'll usually find me reading, binge watching one my comfort shows or dreaming of my next read.

She's been basically moonlighting as his personal assistant: ordering his coffee, organizinghis agenda, picking up his favorite shampoo, etc. Until Richard decides to break up with her, because she's "not serious". So Abigail decides to get back at him by sleeping with his boss, Damien, and getting herself an invite to the firm's holiday party. There's just one small problem: Abigail finds herself falling for Damien and her revenge starts taking a back seat...

Surprised and honored to have been an ARC reader for An Unexpected Life. Quite literally did not expect to be chosen, but thank you to @randomhousebooks

Usually when I see a memoir I think of chapters full of Me, Myself, and I, which isn't surprising since it's supposed to be about the author. This collection of essays doesn't just focus on Gloria Steinem and her life, it turns the lens around and highlights the people who helped shape her as a human and activist. The essays felt like love letters to the people and movements who inspired Gloria. Highlighting their work and how their bravery has shaped the world we live in. Reminding us that humans are a connected to one another, that there is power to being aware of each other.

Cannot express how grateful I am for the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this ghostly and magical story!

Spooky season has arrived and so has your newest addition to your October TBR!

🍂✨️

Having narrowly escaped the family boogeyman, Aven has found refuge in small Amber Grove, your run-of-the-mill small town. Accompanied by her familiar, she starts making plans to take down the entity that killed her family all while having to deal with Wes, a pesky ghost who hates magic. Dive right in to find out how these two navigate their feelings, magic and trying to defeat the entity that's followed Aven into Amber Grove.

Did I ever think a ghost man would make for a good love interest? Not really. After finishing this book I feel the need to apologize to Patrcik Swayze, while also thanking E.M. Rinaldi for writing Wes into existence. Wes may be a ghost, but he set the bar higher than the Empire Building!

The growth between Aven and Wes was well written and flowed beautifully. He starts to understand that magic isn't always a horrible thing. Aven begins to work on her magic, she learns how to control and wield it in order to vanquish the dark entity that's been after her family for generations. This odd pair becomes something more while letting themselves see the things around them in a new light.

Haunt Me, Maybe is already out! Grab yourself a copy and enjoy this paranormal romance just in time for Halloween.

An oldie, but a goodie!

I remembered this book being great, but my goodness it's actually amazing and I can't believe I hadn't re-read it sooner. The tension between these two idiots because they're too scared to admit their feelings. Them thinking the other is in love with another person. The fact that there are actually two beds??

This re-read was so good, I started reading again to make sure I didn't miss any little detail. I NEED for it to be the 23rd right now! by @violetsthornes

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!

May this month bring you new latino stories and may you learn something new about our cultures.

I have to confess something obvious: I don't read many books in Spanish.

Growing up reading in spanish was only for school and it was torture for me. I felt like my brain was wired in english and reading anything in spanish felt like I was reading a bad translation. Spanish class was a constant struggle 1st through 8th grade, and I remember feeling so ashamed that I stopped trying to find books that weren't in english. Thanks to my freshman year teacher I found my stride and ended up in AP spanish senior year, so yay me!

For the last few years I've been forcing myself to read at least one book in spanish, because it's time to grow up and get out of my comfort zone. One book may sound easy, but to me it feels like a great feat. So while I try to expand my horizons I leave you with these latino authors, you never know maybe you'll find the book that opens a new door for you.

This book had me in a chokehold in the middle of my reading slump! Even during the days when I couldn't bring myself to finish one paragraph, my mind would be wondering what was going to happen. Honestly one of the reasons I pushed through the slump was because I NEEDED to know what would happen between Viola and Hugh. Also, who doesn't love a good slow burn with a bit of hatred mixed, and a good amount of yearning?

This one really needs to go into your TBR!! Please do yourself a favor and get a copy or put it on your Christmas list right now.
