Capturing movement in a still
image. Laying in the fluid, flowing
brushstrokes required to bring The figure to life .

Before the rest of the paint touches
the canvas, I draw the whole piece
out: every color, every tiny detail.
Focusing in on the guitar strings and
the character details that anchor the
painting today.

A canvas is made up of a hundred tiny stories. Moving between the picnic scene and the bunny to tie the entire narrative together.

Follow along for what gets painted here next.

A little hack for staying organized: every finished canvas starts right here on the art table. I keep photos of the exact tubes I use for each part of a painting to make finding my paints so much easier.

Which palette is your favorite?

A little hack for bigger canvases: I keep a folder on my phone with photos of the exact tubes I use for each part of a painting. Background, bunny, guitar. It makes finding my paints so much easier, whether you use a palette or palette paper (I'm team palette paper).

Save this for your next big piece.

I never was that into pink until now 🌸🩷

Every part of a painting gets its own little palette.

For the bunny: Light Shell for her coat, Eva Pink for her ears, nose and tail, and a touch of Raw Sienna to highlight.

Swipe to see where each one landed.

This painting makes me want to go on vacation 😅🍊☀️

Fun fact I actually traveled to Tahiti last year and saw all kinds of beautiful marine life. Where are some beach destinations you’ve traveled to?

The three colors I buy in the big tubes: cobalt violet (my name is Violette, so it had to be), I also love purple as it was also my dad’s favorite color, I find purple can have a calming effect as well as I love the historical background of purple as it was typically associated with nobility and royalty.

Naples yellow, which goes with just about everything. Yellow also represents me as a person warm, sunny and optimistic ☺️💛

And Green (phthalo green is I use in almost every painting). I love nature and being in nature. I also love the calming and grounding emotions that green often brings. Keep an eye out for Phthalo green in my paintings 🖼️

Which one is your favorite? Answer in the comments!

Layers and days of painting blue , in 15 seconds. Laying in cerulean, intense blue and royal blue for my Whiskey piece. The background color sets the tone for the whole piece, and it’s one of my favorite part to watch come together. I used blue to represent calmness and tranquility.

Can you already see who’s hiding in the white shapes?
