To the @thecdnacademy, I’m grateful to be considered for Performance in a Supporting Role.

The time I spent with Sid on this film challenged my perspective on what can be lost in the pursuit of a goal. Losing oneself, relationships, and even sight of the goal at hand. It’s an experience I’ll always carry with me.

Under the direction of Rez, I’m incredibly proud of what our team created. From our Canadian premiere at AIFF to SXSW and beyond, it’s been a journey that shaped me deeply as an artist and influenced how I’m stepping into what’s next.

Thank you to @afilmbyrez and @socacola for believing I could bring Sid to life.

Growing up in Regent Park, the stakes were pretty high for children of immigrants like me to find success. It was always a choice between following my heart towards the arts or choosing a path that promised security.

Somehow, I held onto my dreams since I was a kid, and now, that journey has brought me to an incredible milestone - my acting debut as part of the opening night film at the @regentparkfilm festival. It’s a blessing to share this work with the community, as it couldn’t be more full circle than this.

Our film is a love letter to Toronto, painting an artist’s journey on a vibrant canvas filled with moments of doubt, fear, and a search for belonging.

I’ve seen Regent Park evolve over the past two decades, and despite all those changes, dreams have a way of surviving through it all. To all the dreamers in Regent Park and beyond, I hope this story tugs at your heart. Thank you for welcoming our film home, right here where I was raised.
