Mein liebstes deutsches Paar 💛

I want to start with that, because it is exactly how I think of Robert and Uli.

Feldthorie in the Kamptal is much more than just a winery to me. Robert and Uli are friends who made a real difference in my time in Austria. Even in the small village of Mollands, they managed to make me feel at home, welcomed, included, and part of something, instead of just passing through.

They did not just host me, they integrated me into their world, shared their time, their laughter, and their passion for wine. There were so many moments of simplicity and joy that I will carry with me for a long time.

Special mention to Shrimpy, the sausage dog of my heart.

Ich liebe dich, mein kleiner Wursthund 🌭

I have a lot of love and gratitude for them. I will always support their project and everything they are building in the wine world, because it truly deserves to grow.

Wishing them nothing but the very best for what is ahead. I hope Feldthorie continues to evolve, thrive, and reach even more people who will appreciate what they do.

Harvest season, stained hands, early mornings, long days, shared bottles, and memories I’ll carry with me for a long time.
Feeling grateful to have experienced another harvest and to everyone who made it special along the way.

Special mention to my amazing housemates, my little harvest family, for the dinners, debriefs, support, and all the moments in between. Couldn’t have asked for better people to share this season with.

To the vines, the dirt, the cellar, and the people behind it all, thank you.

Il 3 Ottobre é finita la vendemmia da Nikolaihof, e a Wachau si festeggia tutti insieme con l’ultima pressa che viene svolta manualmente.

E si beve, si beve e si beve!

Thomas è ormai la quarta generazione a gestire la cantina, con sua moglie Claudia, dal 2011.
Quest’anno ho contribuito alla loro vendemmia e lo scambio è stato più che equo con un’intera degustazione di vino in loro compagnia alla fine della giornata.
I 15 ettari sono coltivati in biologico dal 2009.
Principalmente, come nel resto del Burgerland, le uve bianche sono: Grüner, Pinot bianco, Chardonnay, Sauvignon e Welschriesling (in Italia conosciuto come Riesling renano). Come uve rosse: Blaufränkisch, Cab Sauvignon, St. Laurent e Zweigelt (un incrocio tra Blaufränkisch e St. Laurent ideato di Fritz Zweigelt nel ‘22 in Austria).
Motto dell’azienda - Tutto ciò che è contro natura non durerà a lungo - Charles Darwin.
